The only players I can see that would be wanted by other clubs are Garnacho and Dalot. Maybe those two sales (~50 mill) are enough to bring in some wing backs.

We still only got 1 win in Howe's first 2 months.  There's different ways of approaching things.  Only takes a few things for things to fall apart or click.

 

Very very premature to be writing Amorim off as many are.

Strange thing for a manager to say. I can understand, just about, his sticking to a certain system if he thinks that once they get it it'll work, but "......my idea, I don't have another one" ?

 

I'm very wary of managers who have to be that rigid. I can buy into managers who want to be more passing based or more route one, high press or low block but we have to play this formation regardless of the personnel seems an admittance of lack of ability to get the best out if a squad.

It’s been said loads, but Man Utd are way off. Amorim must have seen some of Man Utd under ETH, where Case / Eriksen just don’t work. Even just any 2 CMs won’t work, but here we are, persisting with a 3-4-3 as it’s his only idea that’s centred on just 2 CMs.

 

It’s never going to work consistently in the Prem. Going to be out run. Three CBs, still weak defensively. Best attackers are Rashford and Garnacho. Both being sidelined because of training stuff (apparently only had 4 full training sessions, so nuts to discard them based on that). 
 

I’m 100% confident that if they lose next two games, Ratcliffe will sack him. Because his excuses only going to get weirder and more tiresome.

There is a high likelihood they lose their next 2 games (Liverpool in the League and Arsenal in the FA Cup) but fortunately for him/them they have Southampton at home after that, as bad as Man U are they'll beat Southampton

It's out of context from what he said.

 

He said he would adapt to win games, but he wouldn't stop trying to sell his idea to the players because once a coach stops believing in their idea and changing because of results it's the end of them. He said he was hired for this and that's how he'll play.

He addressed this as well. How he also plays 4-4-2 in some transitions.

Yeah that's entirely reasonable, i do question the speed of the transition to 3 at the back though but I do agree with you in that Amorim deserves time and has been hamstrung by what is available.

Starting Zirkzee and then subbing him after 30 minutes was fucking horrific 

 

Say what you want about the system, but it was obvious to anyone Mainoo needed to be in midfield as Eriksen and Casemiro were going to get steamrolled off any fast and physical side. 

 

You just cannot perform in the Prem nowadays without physicality in the middle, that's not Zirkzee's fault.
