Guest firetotheworks
He looks extremely physically weak by PL standards, like. Too early to case serious judgment, though. This.

Segun Oluwaniyi
It was remarkably predictable that Cabella and Riviere would both take time to adjust and really show themselves, just given the types of players they are. It is also remarkably predictable that the lunatics who run this asylum would not consider this and put these two new players in position where they have to be the focal points of the side. Is it really this surprising that the flighty, skillful, and slight attacking midfielder is struggling to find the pace or physicality of the game early in his time? Did they not take into account that this only slightly above average Ligue 1 striker might struggle being thrown up top alone with little support? We are in only September, and both players are already reaching a crossroads with supporters because of the way they have been handled.

Guest firetotheworks
One thing I will say is, that video against Arsenal that KaKa was ramming on about didn't exactly make me realise he was a much better player than I've seen, like. The highlights of him from last season look a lot better imo. Still no Ben Arfa like, which is who he's replacing.

Especially considering the hooha around signing too many players from outside the league the season we were nearly relegated. 18 months later and we've done the exact same thing

steve_69
If Ben Arfa had found himself in the positions this guy has in front of goal, he'd have buried the chances. That's the frustrating difference between the fella we've let go and the fella that Pardew deems is his superior replacement. He might get better with time but why not have both of them here and take the immediate pressure off Cabella. Fucking clown!

Keep coming to the same conclusion every time though: Pardew is an idiot.

Kanj
Imagine the "press/marketing" by having 2 mercurial winger/attackers in RC and HBA? Would be fun for the kids too.
sugoinufc
i refuse to judge him as long as pardew is his manager. 100% sure he has what it takes to make it here or maybe at a higher level (with the right manager)
Chris_R
Imagine the "press/marketing" by having 2 mercurial winger/attackers in RC and HBA? Would be fun for the kids too. Those 2 either side of a half-decent striker like Cisse, with De Jong in behind them. It'd be great, if done correctly. Ie if the front 3 could have license to just attack and not have to track fullbacks to their own byeline whilst the striker stands up there on his own and fends off iced hoofballs. Kanj
De Jong's intelligence and quick play (notice that he's eager for 1-2s, generally plays everything first time) - it would be a wonderful thing for Cisse.
Guest Howaythetoon
I don't want to judge any of our new lot under this cunt of a manager, but they are all men and all have something to prove and none of them have looked remotely good enough, especially this fella. Instead of rolling around or being fanied off the ball, get on the ball and get at you man, show him and us what you have about you etc.
M4
I don't want to judge any of our new lot under this cunt of a manager Basically. Every performance or judgement comes with a big asterisk next to it at this point.

TRon
He needs to be getting some shots in at goal, that's what he was brought here for at the end of the day. He's not creating much as far as assists go, but there's no reason why he can't get into goal scoring positions more regularly. This is where both him and Riviere have been big let downs so far.
