WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Next time someone secures a transfer to a club in the middle east, we could... Nah, nah. I can't do it. SAY "THEY'VE GOT A MOVE LIKE DEJAGAH'S" ahahahahahahahahahahaha #topbantz
The College Dropout
Sounds just like us with the exception of them flogging all of the good players in one go. It really doesn't, though. A new owner comes in because her father dies, and she has no interest in the club. The guy talks about the Chairman as the figurehead who has sold the club to all the new players - he leaves because of clashes with the new owner, and all the direction goes with him. In your case, the players weren't sold a long-term project, they've been sold an opportunity to use the club as a stepping stone - and nothing has changed. Ashley also has no interest in the same way she doesn't and is happy to flog the better players at the prospect of any profit. Both clubs being run into the ground for the benefit of one person. Ashley wants us to turn a consistent profit. He'll happily sit here for a number of years taking the profit. This lady's not in it for the medium term by the looks of things. Parsley
In fairness to Ashley, we were able to keep all of our best players the summer after finishing 5th. Bit devil's advocate like, but I think any comparison between Newcastle and Southampton's current plight is fairly tenuous. As shit as the Ashley era has generally been, we've not had to go through a firesale of this magnitude.
Stuy_O
Thats true but none of our crop were English (apart from Carroll who went instantly) ,which seems to give the Man Utd's & Arsenals extra incentive. We also need to factor Liverpool in here who seem to have gone crazy paying 20mil for Lovren. The sales may seem harsh but i'm not sure they can turn the money they are being given down. If it doesn't get reinvested then absolutely their supporters are getting shafted.

Neil
How are Everton financing this just out of interest? When Moyes was in charge, we didn't hear the end of Everton's supposed shoestring budget in the media. Can't imagine the conditions have changed much since Martinez took over. People forget we had a considerable surplus last year thanks to the Fellaini sale. I was fully expecting the profit to disappear into a black hole like it usually does, mind. Ryan
Being reported that it's a £25 million deal for Lukaku who'll be on 75k a week. Fee seems a tad high imo but great signing.

KaKa
Exceptional from Everton Dirt cheap for a beast of a 21 year old who is already banging in goals regularly in the premier league. What a future for Everton, having tied up Barkley and Lukaku. Brilliant.

Chelsea are selling due to FFP, i guess. Aye I'm sure they are really struggling with that 50m sale of Luiz. Chelsea are doing what they always do, sell young players they don't need for a profit. Which in turn they use that profit on proven winners they will use.
