Defoe to mackems with altidore going in the opposite direction. Looks very possible.

that looks a horrible deal for Toronto

Defoe wants to leave, Altidore will score boatloads in the MLS. Also, IIRC Toronto doesn't really get to decide, the MLS gets to decide if the offer is adequate.

And the MLS probably wants Altidore there; he's still a star in the US, isn't he?

I guess so. If you're on the US National Team, they can market you. No-one will have paid attention to the fact he hasn't scored a goal since 10000BC.

MLS seems to be desperate to drag back as many national team players as possible, much to Jurgen's chagrin.

We are apparently signing Carles Gil from Valencia for €4m

Can he score goals?

That's not our problem. The goal scorers, I mean. The problem is we have absolutely no idea how to get them the ball.

What has Morrison ever done to warrant a move to Serie A's third placed team, besides being as thuggish as Lazio fans?

He's got a lot more genuine talent than most English players his age. It's a bit of a cliché but if someone can get him to mature off the field he'd be an excellent signing.

What did Morrison do to upset Allardyce? It seems like at one point he was flying and the next banished to the reserves

Some rumours that he wouldn't change his agent to the same on Sam and Nolan have and they both kept hassling him about it and Morrison told them both where to go and he got frozen out after that.

Bonus points for this

Morrison grabbed Zaha around the neck before Norwich midfielder Nathan Redmond came between them to act as peacemaker.

Morrison claimed there was little point passing to the former Crystal Palace forward because he kept losing possession, causing England’s build-up play to break down.
