Ikon
No new signings and a loss on saturday, would there be riots or would people give Pardew a wave? Horses had better wear helmets.
Belfast Boy
We will win. Everything that could have went wrong in the lead up to the derby has so therefore we will win and it will be sweet. Footballs weird man. This. Or possibly some Mackem will break Ben Arfa in the first 10 minutes.
pedro111
Also think we are due a massive slice of good luck and they are due a massive slice of bad luck.
cp40
Sickening amount of gloating and smugness from the Mackem presenter and gabiadini on total sport. Ive only just discovered tonight they have saved themselves from relegation....
Doctor Zaius
A Draw is the very best we can hope for like.
Spider Jerusalem
Shola starts and Pardew has another record setting afternoon.
sempuki
Probably our last meaningful game of the season. Not confident about this one at all.

SEMTEX
Annoying when people say shit like that. No matter what happens beforehand, no matter who you're against, there's always a chance of a win. That's the whole reason we're all still watching this shit even with Mr Fatcunt trying to ruin it at every corner.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
So which out of form striker would you start with on Saturday? Shola who hasn't scored in the Premiership for over a year. Cisse who scored in the FA Cup against Cardiff and a penalty against Stoke in the Premiership (that's if he recovers from his reported back injury). De Jong who has played something like 72 minutes of competitive football this season. I'd probably start Cisse if he's fit.
Varadi
De Jong for me. We know the other 2 will be shite, he might not be.
Guest palnese
Adam Armstrong.
nemtizz
De Jong. Throw him right in. He clearly has something to prove so let him have a pop. Pardew seems to think he's high on confidence so why would you bench him? Sure he'll get tired, but that's what substitutions are for. I'll take an obligatory Shola sub at 65 mins, as anything is better than him starting, but he will anyway.
Ketsbaia
De Jong mightn't be match fit, doesn't know the PL and mightn't be that good. But if it's him or Shola, I'd pick De Jong every single time. At least he can move.
alexf
Would top off a truely horrendous week getting beat by these fuckers. Feels like everything is falling into place perfectly for the them

At least he can move. Absolutely. I've seen nothing of De Jong but I've seen far, far too much of Shola. Give him his debut and play him 'til he's knackered. pedro111
I'd play Cisse every single day of the year over Shola. Sick to death of Shola. If he wasn't a Geordie he'd have gone 11 years ago.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
If De Jong started the crowd would get a lift from a new player and they'd also give him the extra support new players tend to get on their début.
SEMTEX
wait a cotton pickin second Tiote is going to be our captain. For the derby?
alexf
Tiote knows what's up. As good a choice as anyone. In fact being captain almost makes him play with more responsibility. Hope I haven't jinxed it now
Klaus
Tiote seems to be less of a liability when he has the captains armband imo, seems more disciplined with the extra responsibility. alexf
BONTEMPI
4-2-3-1 for me Krul Debuchy MYM Willo Santon Anita Tiote Sissoko Ben Arfa Gouffran Cisse Give Cisse the support he needs. If he can't be arsed this match then his time here is over.
alexf
Agree, If Cisse is fit I would start him. No matter what has gone on before, it's a fresh start and we need him.
