AyeDubbleYoo
His position must be untenable now, with this and the Caulkin article. Although, saying that, it was never tenable in the first place.
Big Geordie
Ian - if it had been anywhere else, he would have either been sacked or forced to resign this morning. As it is........
TRon
Lacking in credibility is pretty mild criticism tbh. Lacking a heavy blow to the head with a spade would be better more like it.

When I do on the odd occasion I remember that they employed Joe Kinnear twice.

Sir Toon
Regardless of Charnley, he is still the first line of deflector defence of the real problem in Ashley. The first sign of heat and he will swan off back down pink lane.
loki679
Pay peanuts get monkeys. It's the same throughout the whole structure of the club, people are (or were) in key positions not because of ability but because of cost and pliability. The only place we've spent a decent wedge is the first team but that's only been this season and the money was spent not with sporting competition in mind but future profit. You can't run a bakery like this never mind a premier league football club. Hopefully Ashley is starting to realise this now and no matter what division we're in next season thumbhead will be handed his P45 and someone suitably qualified for the job will be brought in. Hand Rafa the keys to the kingdom and give him carte blanche to restructure the club from top to bottom.

Big Geordie
If the man had any dignity, he would resign when relegation is confirmed. As it is - I expect him to stay in place for the time being, as Ashley's human shield. The owner may still have need of him, yet.

Guest chopey
He is the lowest paid CEO in the premier league, it will probably cost the same as two weeks of Colo's wages to pay him off. Getting rid of him next Monday is a no brainer

"Oh, see you later." Just more context to help us dream. Even if it is unlikely. The newcastle scout was asking about one of my players, he said he wish the team had played as well as us yesterday. . I then started talking about Rafa and he said he had been told that Charnley had been relieved of his duties this morning. No idea howhe would know like?!?
