Since Lee Charnley took over as MD on April 7, 2014, #nufc have won 16.6% of the games they played. They've lost 55%.

He took over with club 9th and about to play Stoke in 10th - who they were a point ahead of. Stoke (9th) are 22 points ahead of #nufc (19th)

Stoke have spent £42.4m on players since April 7, 2014. #nufc have spent £90.4m.

His position must be untenable now, with this and the Caulkin article. Although, saying that, it was never tenable in the first place.

What is this?

Edit: Just seen/read it

The article is in the Caulkin thread, a damning indictment of the club from top to bottom.

Pay peanuts get monkeys.

It's the same throughout the whole structure of the club, people are (or were) in key positions not because of ability but because of cost and pliability.  The only place we've spent a decent wedge is the first team but that's only been this season and the money was spent not with sporting competition in mind but future profit.

You can't run a bakery like this never mind a premier league football club.  Hopefully Ashley is starting to realise this now and no matter what division we're in next season thumbhead will be handed his P45 and someone suitably qualified for the job will be brought in.

Hand Rafa the keys to the kingdom and give him carte blanche to restructure the club from top to bottom.

He is the lowest paid CEO in the premier league, it will probably cost the same as two weeks of Colo's wages to pay him off. Getting rid of him next Monday is a no brainer

Give some more context, please :)

I'm sure the convo didn't go:

"Hi"

"Hi, Charnley's been sacked!"

"Oh, see you later."

Just more context to help us dream. Even if it is unlikely.

 The newcastle scout was asking about one of my players, he said he wish the team had played as well as us yesterday. . I then started talking about Rafa and he said he had been told that Charnley had been relieved of his duties this morning.

No idea howhe would know like?!?

They are going to have to make decisions very quickly about the senior appointments especially if Rafa is not staying.

The worry is that Ashley is very slow to replace people.  I don't think we have even appointed a new Financial Director and John Irving left last year.  (Don't think he ever replaced the senior financial person either at SD which has caused consternation amongst the shareholders).

Needs to hire a CEO to run the business of the club from commercial side and marketing to overseeing the business and organization completely. He then needs to hire a proper Football Chairman to oversee the entire football side; bring in proper scouts, technical directors etc and all of this needs to be either 1a) Rafa approved or 1b) built immediately after we go down and set in place in rapidly to get prepared. this is obviously not happening but needs to happen one day.

It's interesting how when he wants to look like the saviour pre season it's 'my door' and then when it goes tits skyward again he's got nothing to do with it; Kline watching something burn without doing something about it isn't negligence.
