Really want to see ayoze on the pitch next match, don't want to see de jong unless we are protecting a two goal lead (experience + calm). Wouldn't mind seeing Aarons aswell although think Schteve will go with Obertan after his assist last week.

Protecting a 2 goal lead... I know... let's whack on an attacking midfielder who'll play just behind the striker like the young lad, because he's calm and experienced.

Fully Standing by the Obertan comment. Cabella has done f*** all since he got here.

Neither has Obertan. He's been here 4 years now for gods sake. Cabella is ten times the player Obertan is. Obviously good coaching and time to settle will improve his play here.

This guy running off Mitrovic would be class.

Sissoko - Wijnaldum - NewDM - Aarons

                Mitrovic - Perez

Can't see how we wouldn't finish top half with that in the state this league is in. We really do need a better version of Tiote/Anita though. A guy that will just sit and do what Anita does but win the ball back as well and provide steel in midfield.

1 game in to the season

People are going on as if nobody is ever going to get injured / tired all season, not to mention having no idea how fit the pair of them currently are. For all we know by not guaranteeing them a start in every game McClaren is making them work harder for it? And when they do finally get their chance it may make them try their bollocks off to keep their place?

Nah man, McClaren's just shit for not picking your favorite player.

Nah man, McClaren's just s*** for not picking your favorite player.

And instead he plays one of the most hated. That's the major issue, really.

Aye. Nobody would've minded Ayoze being benched for someone substantially better. Get real, man. I think many of us are just sick and tired of seeing our best players continually left on the bench for utter dross, as this was a constant under the Pardew and Carver eras. Can't blame us for bringing up the point that this lad deserves to start, along with Aarons, based solely on last season and pre-season showings. Too early to get daggers out for McLaren, but nothing wrong with stating an opinion.

The only valid point here is the fitness one, but considering both Aarons and Perez looked fine pre season and Obertan could hardly walk after 60 minutes leaving his fullback exposed then it doesn't make sense.

45 or 60 minutes of Aarons or Perez is better than 90 of Obertan.

He was not only exciting to watch but also effective. Indeed our best player last season, and thought it was bad enough he didn't start the last game against West Ham.
