The one good thing about co-commentators being as obnoxious as that is when they talk all over the scripted reaction from the main commentary. I bet it kills them inside that their moment is spoiled.

Love it when the co-commentator is rambling on and you can tell the main commentator just wants them to shut the fuck up

Good for now and you know the Europa League will completely mess up Liverpool's season.  Having said that I can see them finishing 10th and winning that, because that's the level of fluke they usually get.

"Such a shame"

f***ing arseholes. Why is it a shame? The f***ers won 1 game out of 6. Why is it a shame? f***ing simpering c***s.

They're going on like they've all been starved of success for decades.

The penalty is 50/50.

But that's never a red card.

He looked over his shoulder, before swinging his arm back towards the face of the Basel player, and hits him. It's a red imo.

And that is never a penalty, the keeper got a firm hand on the ball, before it ricochets off Gerrards leg.

Lovren could easily have been sent off too btw. Markovic deserved the red just for pure stupidity alone though.

yep to both of them, not sure what Markovic was thinking but he meant to do whatever that was as is made clear by the glance back

I thought the ref got both decisions right. For the pen, the keeper clearly got to the ball first and knocked it against Gerrard.

For the red card, you could see Markovic look back, size his opponent up and then flick his fingers into the bloke's eye. It wasn't an accident and it doesn't have to be a punch to qualify as violent conduct.

Who'd have thought blending a load of players from Southampton and Swansea wasn't going to be a recipe for world class success?  They essentially built their side up from players in teams that finished 8th and below, with a sprinkling of Balotelli to also totally disrupt any good feeling within the squad.  Shambolic recruitment policy.

Rodgers' reaction to the whistle blowing totally contradicts what he's just said. He knew when that whistle went that that Markovic was walking. He saw the arm go out, saw the player go down and the referee reach for his pocket and he knew what was coming. To then say the ref got it wrong and suggest  he didn't even see it is horrific. It's absolute bullshit. It's Pardew-grade bullshit. He saw it and reacted - Confucious said "the first reaction is usually the correct one."
