Unbelievable
Pens should have been Robben, Kuyt, Huntelaar, Sneijder and Clasy. I admire Vlaar for having the guts for taking the first after possibly the best defensive display this World Cup tonight, but his team mates really hung him out to dry by sending him out as the first man to take one.. Unbelievable
Regarding Krul, I think after the secondd half Van Gaal felt we had the upper hand at that point and Huntelaar could be the difference. i don't blame him, seeing as it was like playing with 10 men sometimes with Van Persie. Incognito
And '94 was crap too. I believe a lot of people romanticize it because we were kids. 1998 and 2002 were both better, imho. My fave is obviously 1990, though. The one you hosted in 82 is comfortably the best World Cup I've seen in my lifetime, and I started as a six year old in 74. 90 is second best and 78 third. My dad says that's the only tournament he actually shed some tears for Brazil going out. He says 5th of July is the worst date he's experienced as a Brazilian football fan and says that yesterdays loss comes close but is still eclipsed by that loss. Mate, they were so special. I'll never forget watching the Scotland game.....another Friday night job. And the Ghillie Jockoes having the cheek to take the lead...you could actually see the hackles rise and they proceeded to tear therm apart

Mr. Snrub
Netherlands defender Ron Vlaar - who missed the first penalty for the Dutch: "I would never walk away from my responsibility. I wasn't nervous, I was focused. Feel sorry for Vlaar reading that, volunteering when you know that 2 big names refused to step up to the plate. Had a great game. Village Idiot
Time to see which Pope God likes best, too. The German one will pray more and the latino will take a nap, so the Germans will win. It's ok the be racist against latins if I'm one?

Neil
There was a prime opportunity to make that a good Giggsing, but instead, no. He'll be disappointed when he sees that again.
Interpolic
We will honestly get to a stage where nobody posts anything, through fear of Giggs. Was just about to Giggs him like, don't get me wrong.
Kaizero
Was halfway through photoshopping the Townsend bingo into a Giggs bingo, but nooooo, BM had to jump the gun.

B-more Mag
I can't imagine declining to take the first pelanty. I mean yeah it's super intense, and if you missed it would feel horrible, but how could you ever shake that feeling that you caved to fear and failed your team? Trumpet
Who could be the two that bottled it though ? My first thought is Huntelaar, ...second, maybe Blind ? Cilissen just looked bereft of any confidence when talking to Krul before the shoot-outs. No intimidating, no shit talking, he was just awed by the pressure. Hiddink is next to take over to Netherlands apparently. Hope they go back to playing proper Dutch football, and Hiddink doesn't play his Anzhi version with the Dutch. Kanj
I feel like the same manager has managing the Dutch for ages. Hiddink, Van Gaal, Advocat, few former star players like Rijkaard and Van Basten etc.

Ketsbaia
It's obvious to say Germany will win the Final but I'm not so sure. They were amazing against Brazil and, scarily, were clearly holding back. They could've went up another gear or two if needed. But most teams wouldn't melt down like Brazil did in those 6 minutes, even Brazil mightn't have if Thiago Silva played. Germany have been the most impressive team so far, but it's not guaranteed that they'll just stroll past the Argies and roll in 5 more. Argentina's defence is actually quite good, plus Germany's high defensive line is much riskier against Messi, Di Maria & Aguero than against Fred. Also, if Germany choose to play their own game and treat Messi like a normal player, it could easily backfire. I'm really excited for the game, I think the best 2 teams have made the Final and it's tough to call. There's something amazing about Messi dragging Argentina to glory in the Maracana. Away Toon
Since when did Vlaar become a world class defender? Is he that good playing for Villa or is the dross alongside him dragging him down?

Greg
Enjoyed that despite the lack of goals. Just sick of Argentinians, they are a bunch of rude fucking arseholes.
