David28
The feeling on the streets here is not even close to being tense. Everyone, really everyone expects Germany to win so comfortably. I want Germany to win now cause it'll bring me back to all square betting wise in the world cup and well, in the end, I'm a German and not from Argentina. But, for some of them arrogant people - mostly Bayern Munich supporters who got their flags out after the 4-0 trashing of Portugal and alsmost got them back in after the 2-2 draw against Ghana - I'd also welcome an upset today. Anyway, bring it on.
wacko
If destiny is a real concept, Messi wins tonight. It's the night of his life, the stage he belongs on and he's been my player of the tournament. Argentina won't collapse like Brazil did in those 400 seconds, so I can see it being a cagey game - probably 1-0 Germany. Would absolutely love Argentina to win it though, they've been my team all along. It'd be amazing if Messi did what everyone said he had to, and he did it in the Maracana! Big question is, are Germany confident enough in themselves to just play their own game, or will they have Messi tactics like everyone else? So excited for tonight IIRC, in 2010, they made sure to double up on Messi and Schweini followed him around whenever Argentina had the ball, but otherwise they played their game and destroyed Argentina. Sifu
Fred quits International football For the best really. He would have had to do a hell of a lot to win back the Brazilian fans' support if he had continued playing in the next few years...

George Bailey
Germany will win in relative comfort IMO. 2-0. Way I see it as well.... barring a very odd collapse of form and Messi being awesome. 3-0 or 4-1 for me. Just hope its not as drab and dire as 90..gawd that was awful. Disco
Roy Nemer @RoyNemer 37m News coming out of radio in Argentina that Angel Di Maria will start in place of Enzo Perez. Not confirmed. David28
Disco, your prediction for the final? (Especially with Di Maria starting)
Disco
I think Di Maria starting might end up backfiring Diego Costa style personally, it's such a massive risk with a muscle injury but then again he's a massive boost to their chances. Huge decision for Sabella, especially when Argentina are likely to tire quicker than Germany if it goes the distance. Result wise I think it's Germany's to lose, think their midfield is just too superior to the Argentines but I genuinely don't know - won't be betting on any results that's for certain. Flip
Why would you take Enzo Perez out, I watched only bits of the semi-final but at home people were talking about how he was probably their best player, van Gaal subbed Martins out because he was having problem with him and Argentinian media are still questioning the decision to bring him off in the game as he was their biggest threat. Perez was very good but he is a bit more attack minded than Biglia so maybe they want two players sitting in in midfield at all times
Village Idiot
Enzo Pérez actually performed the Di María role (grabbing the ball in midfield and running with it to throw the opposition off), quite well imho. Massive risk if Di María starts, since I don't believe he'll be fit.
