Kanj
Rather see Gouffran up top, with Aarons and Cabella wide.
Elliottman
Sissoko and gouff on wings. welcome back last season
Kanj
De Jong's preseason injury actually annoys me. He's clearly more vital to us than just goals - need him out there as he's probably the new real captain. Fuck even Tiote missing kills.
Wilson
Hopefully the storys are true about Pardle being under pressure, as he'll be gone by December if that's our 1st choice formation.
midds
We're starting this season exactly how we finished the last one. How's he still here man?
LRD
Reckon Sissoko will still play on the right, with Gouffran in the de Jong role.
mrmojorisin75
I fucking hate Pardew.
Disco
We're starting this season exactly how we finished the last one. How's he still here man? But if it didn't work last season or the time before it's bound to start working now.

Mole_Toonfan
Don't believe it will be exactly the same when everyone is fit. Do Jong changes things, unless he benches Cabella for an hardworking wide player which is entirely possible.
Rich
Santon will be left back, Gouffran will drop to the bench with Anita. Can't see the shape changing much/at all.
mozy
I suppose the defence is what I want to see, that's about it. If Colback plays slightly ahead of Anita then it might work, inevitably he will sit right alongside him as we concede possession.
Disco
Santon will be left back, Gouffran will drop to the bench with Anita. Can't see the shape changing much/at all. Pardew is petrified of playing anything other than a flat 4 in midfield hence why we so often revert to it despite occasionally dabbling with a 3 or 2 sitters. Guest neesy111
That formation was so utterly predictable.
loki679
Play a flat four midfield in a 4-4-1-1 and play our only winger in the middle

I do agree, didn't say the shape that changes. Just that with Cabella and De Jong there's a bit more attacking talent than is out there today. So that changes it a little bit, even if the shape is the same. But as said there's always the chance he does a Ben Arfa with Cabella.
nufcjb
How long is De Jong out actually? What's the injury?
mrmojorisin75
i'm sitting looking at that line up in absolute bewilderment i was thinking 'what can he possibly be scared of vs. sociedad in a home friendly' but in a way if he goes to attack them and we end up three down like malaga then there's a chance things might get nasty for him again...suppose this must be foremost in his thinking does not bode well for the season to come at SJP at all
thenige
Fingers crossed Pardew channels his inner Mark Robins for the first game.

Guest neesy111
Gouffran was argubly our worst player since january and isnt a winger ffs.
loki679
We need extra digits for next week. 4-5-0-0-0-0-1 maybe.
Chrisjraby
Crock of shite. Anyone taking banners to the game? Would love to hear Pardew get shit from the crowd already but chances are it'll be full of families taking advantage of the cheap seats!
