It's just a question of whether anything will actually come of it. There's a lot of hurdles to be jumped yet. I can see that compensation being a stumbling block. Like, perhaps a family bereavement or something (hopefully not obviously), but that would explain why he left suddenly and why the club hasn't said anything as they'd want to allow Pardew time to speak when he's ready. He'd just come out and say his loyalty was always to Newcastle, never any interest, press playing silly buggers etc. we'd all know he was lying but the football world would eat it up and on we'd go for another round of this grand farce.
