Steve Mcmanacunt "I'm just glad a good English manager is doing well."

Said we should have had two reds. Sissoko and Janmaat

Sissoko should've walked. Very dangerous tackle on Allen.

Janmaat on Balotelli was a yellow for me.

Second half I thought it looked like it was only a matter of time before Liverpool would score, but we scrapped enough, they couldn't create clean chances and we nicked the goal.

Overall we deserved it but I wouldn't have been complaining with a 0-0 or 1-1.

One at the start of the 2nd half wasn't it?

Clumsy/poor tackle from behind. Allen could easily have broke his leg.

Krul- Great save

Janmaat- looks comfortable now

Colo & Taylor worked well together

Dummet- very good defensively

Abeid & Colback- both brilliant worked tirelessly

Sammy- Our only poor performance

Sissoko- So much better behind a striker

Obertan- Was playing well until injury

Cisse- Quiet and isolated

Aarons- worked hard was ok

Perez- Fox in the box

Cabella- good little cameo, plays well with Perez

People actually expecting this to last?

Oh for god's sake cheers up for at least a couple of hours after a good win, mate

As far as I see it this just makes Pardews job secure again.

And I can't stomach having a manager job charge who doesn't want to compete for any sort of silverware.

Ignore them, man.

He was never going to get sacked anyway. Just enjoy this ffs.

Enjoy mediocrity?

Personally i don't think we played well overall. We kept it tight and managed to get a goal. The usual (when we win)

That about sums it up. We defended well though and looked a threat on the break even if it wasn't very fluent. Liverpool look like a shot team without Suarez and Sturridge.

First home game I've enjoyed since we beat Chelsea I think. That is what NUFC should always be about. Hard work, direct running, quick football, crowd onside and bellowing for every decision. It's not fucking rocket science and it's criminal it seems to have taken so long for the dickhead in charge to decide it.

Stuff that makes a difference:

- Players that beat a man on the wing aka not Gouffran

- Sissoko central

- Midfielders that are quick in to the tackle and don't mind taking a booking

- Coloccini not having to hold the hand of everyone alongside him despite Taylor and Dummett's obvious weaknesses.

Thought Abeid and Sissoko were imperious today, even Colback had a good game. Don't think anyone played badly in fairness.

Quick word on Liverpool - Rodgers has made them in to his Swansea side for some reason. Happy to keep the ball passively but not a single player on their team who was looking to run and commit a defender or make a difference. Absolutely pathetic, none more emphasised than Jordan Henderson, his best hiding performance since the 5-1. Absolutely woeful.

We're playing just like we did in that run we had this time last year. A fairly well organised 'away team' regardless of who we're playing.

First home game I've enjoyed since we beat Chelsea I think.

Both games absolutely dreadful for 70 minutes.  I didn't really enjoy either, the last 20 were canny but I was still annoyed about having to watch the previous 70.

Dreadful is a bit of an overstatement but aye they were hardly classics but we're never going to dominate a game for large periods - it's against everything Pardew believes in plus we're nowhere near good enough on the ball to keep it for large spells.

The way we're playing at the moment is almost a carbon copy of that run we had last year and like last year it'll not last because it's not sustainable.

I wouldn't say I enjoyed today's game, the football was too scrappy, but I did enjoy wanting us to win again. This week has been good from that POV, I've resigned myself to the fact Pardew is here for another year at least.

I think dreadful's fair to be honest, we showed no desire to do anything but survive and make things as tedious as possible in either.  Was the same against Benfica as well, they're all the same game.
