Alright, a bit more effort this time. This is basically it from what I've seen. Right down to the mismatched lines, I'd say this is 99% accurate. Only thing I haven't seen is it with the Sela logo on and if the blue and the adidas 3 stripes on the sleeves go all the way down or not.

That is fucking horrendous. It makes the barcode one look like an all-time classic. There will be a meltdown in the fanbase if that becomes a reality.

There won’t be a meltdown. Our fan base is so flaccid they couldn’t even create a meltdown in a candle shop

Some people will love it, some people will piss and moan and say it’s awful, loads will buy it.

Same as it ever was.

We've never had a shirt as controversial as this one would be so I think you might be wrong on that.

Nah. If 14 years of Ashley shows one thing it’s that we’ve got the collective backbone of an earthworm on ket.

Some people will huff and puff a bit on social media, but that’ll be it.

What's the worst that happens? The kit gets released, people piss and moan and then we release a new strip the season after.

Mainly due to fond memories of the promotion season though? If Puma or Castore had produced that during the Ashley reign it'd likely go down as our worst kit ever. Aesthetically, it was rank.

I disagree personally, it's my favourite ever Newcastle kit. I love most umbro kits from the early '90s anyway but I love how abstract it is while still being pretty simple/classic overall and working as 'streetwear' sort of thing. Love the collar, the fit, the jacquard, everything.

It helps that the blue star pulls it altogether because I'm nowhere near as much of a fan as the non-blue star ones.

What, front of shirt...?

When the Sela thing got agreed they didn't actually state the length of the contract. Just 'multi-year'.

Aye, old Big Daddy River already cracked the case a few weeks back and has since had it confirmed.

Managed to find one. This is based on the Atletico Madrid set up and the colour on next year's kit. I've moved the sponsor up a bit compared to the Atletico one because I couldn't deal with how bad it looked.

The blue star on its own is probably the greatest front of shirt sponsor of all time, says this unbiased observer.

There's absolutely no debate regardless of which team you support. Not only does it look aesthetically pleasing without any context, it also depicts the city itself in a beautiful graphic design. Then you factor in how closely the product is tied with the city.

It's the only shirt sponsor in history thar enhances the shirt rather than makes it worse and this is an undeniable fact.

The original barcode is without doubt an iconic shirt, it would have been many peoples first in the age of the Italia 90 boom, had a decent shelf life and worn in some huge games in the clubs history.  It definitely stands out from all others too, the Demba Ba season with solid sleeves and almost all black body is the only other one in the last 30 years which has deviated much from the idea of traditional black and white stripes.
