Yeah I think they are contractually obliged to wear the kits a certain amount of times or some shit like that these days.

Sounds about right, but if it keeps the adidas £££rolling we won't be complaining

Thought it was used far more than that given how iconic it was....still prefer the denim nipple ripper myself

yeah bit like the England 1990 third in that respect, was only ever worn once in a qualifier in Turkey but undoubtedly one of the most iconic and expensive shorts largely down to the new order video and the fact its lush.

Verging on just too young to remember that one...don't remember an England away kit till the grey 96 sickener...

The wonders of Google revealed it. Don't remember it, didn't see it, glad I didn't.

Just been in to see the shirts.

Honestly, size wise, you are best going for your normal size.

The material is much like the Northern Rock shirt with the blue sponsor.

The larger the size of the shirt, the more of white stripe it is has next to the sleeves. There is no large versions out on the shop floor at SJP, but the XL, 2XL, and 3XL all have the white stripe, the 2XL and 3XL all showing it more. The XS, S, and M’s do not have the white stripe next to the sleeves.

Cheers! I might go with XL too as im worried that L might not be loose enough.

What are you normally?

I’m between an XL, and 2XL. The 2XL is a bit big, the XL fits, but has a significant less amount of length to it than what you would expect between the sizes.

Found this to be the case with the Adidas tops. Still had PTSD from the Castore days where, despite wearing a L in t-shirts/shirts I had to squeeze into an XL. Got the XL home top this season and it's like a tent. Least I can wear it in a hoody now it's winter.

Im mostly XL when it comes to normal clothing. Pretty wide between my shoulders. Started to shrink slightly though. Not sure if it’s my lifestyle or age

I wouldn’t go below an XL.

Honestly I tried an XL on, it went below my waist, but just thinking it may get small when you are sitting down etc, or if there is any shrinking that happens.

The 2XL though went half way between my upper legs and my knees. Too much of a gap between the 2 sizes.

Fuck me. All this talk about this 95/96 shirt on here made me daft and go watch the season review on YouTube. Brilliant, heart breaking watch at the same time reliving it.

Must say, as much as Ginola is iconic in the away shirt, but him playing in the home kit was so lush. I remember trying to copy  him fashion-wise and ended up looking like a cunt while playing at school. Would play the 1st half of games with my shirt tucked in and then have it untucked in the 2nd half like he would do sometimes. I even wore a bandage on my left hand like he did at the start of the season when he broke his hand or something.

The bandage is next-level stuff.

Got nowt on that Geordie lad on here who changed his support to Man U and was knocking around in full Man U goalkeeper kits with a captains armband in his 20's mind [emoji38]

More expensive than I expected it to be. I guess the weakness of the Swedish krona doesn’t help. But hell no am I missing out on this shirt so I ordered an XL.

Will these shirts be available to buy only during a limited period of time?

Unlikely. Whilst the club makes money from them, they’ll sell them.

What are the dynamics of logo use on these sorts of releases then? Specifically the Brown Ale one here.

I imagine Adidas can't just use it and flog gear just because that's what the shirt looked like back then so fair game. What is the structure of a deal? Can a Brown Ale veto a production? What kind of kickback do they get?

Anyone have any insider info on that sort of stuff?

Anyway, feedback on this is pretty disappointing... Quality, design, sizing, no kids sizes and for the price. I see no reason to replace my DHgate one with this one, so I'm pondering other questions.

I could probably find out, got a connection to one of the top football bods at Adidas and am speaking to a senior Marketing bod at Heineken the morra as it goes

But in my humble opinion I doubt Heineken would kybosh the use of the logo

Best case they get some bunce from Adidas and loads of free advertising for a tertiary brand as millions of billions of geordies strut round in the shirt

Worst case they get no bunce from Adidas and loads of free advertising for a tertiary brand as millions of billions of geordies strut round in the shirt
