toonpete1892
The creases in Carver's face are deeper during that interview after the match, he must have given them a right bollocking at the end, worthless though He seemed genuinely hurt when asked about Krul (despite not seeing the incident). That being said he had two weeks to build up the team but yet we still got that first half performance. The guy is no coach, he is a lad amongst lads. Getting in at 0-0 was part of our gameplan and has been for a season. The sooner we wipe our arse of Pardew's skid mark the better.

midds
You don't know what you're doing mackems 1 Newcastle 0 A headline that can be applied to the whole club after another pathetic derby performance where the entire management and playing staff looked completely clueless, gutless and feckless. Five successive Tyne-wear humiliations give the clearest of indications that things are seriously wrong with the club at every level and with Alan Pardew no longer in the firing line, the club hierarchy need to bite the bullet. Disastrous derby defeats have been the catalyst for change in the past and with Geordies John Carver and Steve Stone at the helm, blaming a lack of regional pride at the management just doesn't wash now. Local lads were present on the pitch, with Sammy Ameobi, Jack Colback and Adam Armstrong all too aware of what was at stake today but a team run by a Dutchman, featuring few born-and bred mackems showed a pride and passion for the shirt that was sadly absent from the silver-clad visitors. Quality is lacking all over the pitch, in the dugout and in the boardroom and nothing can hide that as the relegation-threatened red and whites managed to secure six more points from us for another season - points that will ultimately save their skins again. The strike that won this encounter on a sunny Sunday afternoon was admittedly stunning but it was struck by a proven Premier League goalscorer who was paid handsomely to do a job. Now there's an idea.... To take the field against the league's out-of-form side with such a depressing approach defied belief. No other team can have pitched up here attempting to execute such a negative game plan. They had just been thumped at home by Aston Villa for heaven's sake. United rolled up with a line-up that included too many passengers who are simply not good enough and players who are playing out of position. It's simply not acceptable and a healthy-looking balance sheet only makes it harder to stomach. The bare facts of the game showed that the better side won. More possession, more corners, more shots on goal and of course one more goal. But even their higher tally of bookings was symptomatic of more fight and what appeared to be a greater desire to win. The first half saw the home side start the brighter of the two and although Ayoze Perez had an optimistic penalty shout when ex-Mag Patrick van Aanholt caught him with his trailing leg, Tim Krul was the busier 'keeper. Jonas Gutierrez cleared over his own bar and Connor Wickham headed against the post while Yoan Gouffran hit a volley high and wide. Jermain Defoe should have done better when through on goal but his heavy touch allowed Daryl Janmaat to intercept but the warning went unheeded as half-time approached. A big punt upfield was nodded sideways by Steven Fletcher and fell to Defoe who hit the cleanest of left-footed volleys that flew over Krul and into the corner of the net. Simply unstoppable. Carver made no changes at the break but the pattern of the game continued in the second period with United creating next to nothing to threaten the home goal. Emmanuel Riviere replaced Gouffran just before the hour but Sebastian Larsson went closest to scoring when his long range free-kick almost doubled the lead. A Ryan Taylor corner that curled behind the goalline summed up the performance from Carver's side and although Riviere teed up Remy Cabella to get a shot on goal, Costel Patilimon saved comfortably. Then Larsson seemed a certain scorer but Mike Williamson blocked and from the corner Krul saved a Santiago Vergini header low down to keep a flicker of hope alive. And that flicker should have become a roaring flame when a corner from the right was flicked on but Perez blazed over the top with the goal at his mercy. It would have been an undeserved but welcome equaliser but with referee Mike Dean adding five minutes of stoppage time even Krul's presence for a corner couldn't force a dramatic late strike. The defeat leaves the Magpies still stuck on 35 points while the wearsiders pulled three points clear of the relegation zone. If United had won this game by two clear goals the mackems would have ended the day in the bottom three. Sadly it was a scenario that never looked remotely likely. Chants of "You don't know what you're doing" were sung towards the end of the game and the players were booed as they went towards the away followers, leaving the field to a rendition of "You're not fit to wear the shirt". Absolutely tragic.
M4
The best team won for sure. But in the end it was only 1-0 to a wonder goal. If we had anything about us we could have nicked something. But, obviously we don't.

Kanj
We're 6 they need to stay up - every time we could seal their fate with 6 points each year to send them down for good yet no we get beat.
Beren
Would they have gone down if they had 6 less points in the previous seasons? [Well, four in one of them - if they've only () won five in a row]

The exact opposite is true for the men from Sunderland. For them, this fixture ensures they can play Premier League football each season. Fifteen priceless points have been plundered in two years. In context, Sunderland won the fixture five times in the previous 28 years. Awesome.

It's either complete bullshit and just Carver trying to pass the buck like the slippery tampon that he is, or our players are complete fannies. Either way, this is a truly pathetic organization from top to bottom.
Yorkie
Dreadful comments. It's a huge fixture for the fans, but for players who don't give a shit about the club, it should be treated like any other match. Sooner the thick cunts in charge realise this, we might take a point or two from these games. What's the point in building up the history and meaningfulness of the fixture, as a means of motivation, to a bunch of people who couldn't care less? Just appalling, dinosaur management.
