AyeDubbleYoo
Glad to see such fine, upstanding companies are getting their shit together finally. Not like they should have absolutely nothing to do with sports sponsorship in the first place or anything.
triggs
so its now they choose to pipe up, not the constant corruption over the years, not the fact the world cup is going to a country where being gay is a crime and blatters response was: "I would say they should refrain from any sexual activities." The worker deaths etc and then theres the fact they bid for a summer world cup promising technology to cool the stadiums which turns out to be a load of bullshit and it gets moved to winter. But instead of voicing concerns then with all those valid concerns they choose to condemn him when he's a dead man walking. Fuck em

Raconteur
It has everything to do with it - FIFA's corruption is only possible because the billions tipped into the organisation by these companies. There's also the argument that obesity factories sponsoring sports is something of a contradiction not too far removed from tobacco companies financing lung cancer research. Guest firetotheworks
World Cup 2018! Sponsored by Ssips Lemonade, Checkers Hamburgers and Discover Card. Is Discover card a running joke in America? In Futurama when Fry's in the distant future and he goes through Visa, Mastercard etc and they all no longer exist then he gets to Discover and the guy's like 'ohh sorry, we don't take Discover'

dinotheprehistoricgeordie
The man is such a colossal wanker, nothing is going to remove him from FIFA. They'll have to drag his corpse out of the building when he finally dies in twenty years, or something.
SEMTEX
World Cup 2018! Sponsored by Ssips Lemonade, Checkers Hamburgers and Discover Card. Is Discover card a running joke in America? In Futurama when Fry's in the distant future and he goes through Visa, Mastercard etc and they all no longer exist then he gets to Discover and the guy's like 'ohh sorry, we don't take Discover' It's just not a very widely accepted card type that's all. Similar to AMEX but AMEX is COOL and Discover is kind of desperate. For no good reason whatsoever.

Why doesn't Blatter just quit FFS. He seems to want to hang onto his job for dear life. Its become cringeworthy.
