This is my favorite bit

“Platini started it, but then it became politics. And when it is in politics, it is not any longer Platini against me, it is then those who have lost the World Cup. England against Russia. They lost the World Cup. And the USA lost the World Cup against Qatar. But you cannot destroy Fifa. Fifa is not the Swiss bank. Fifa is not a commercial company. So, what they have done together with the Swiss, they have created this attack towards Fifa and the president of Fifa.

“And you are from Tass and you know what are the problems between your country and the US. The Fifa World Cup or the Fifa president is a ball in the big political power game.”

Blatter said Platini’s dislike for him was because: “He wants to be Fifa president. But he had not the courage to go as the president. Fifa is working well. Since I became president of Fifa, we have made Fifa a big commercial company. And this naturally provokes envy and jealousy.”

Stupid old bastard. How can he in one breath say England and the US lost the World Cup and then in another say it was already to give the World Cups to Russia and Qatar?

What are the realistic chances of Russia and/or Qatar losing their respective tournaments? Slim to none?

Absolutely love Blatter. He's basically a bond villain incarnate.

I just love how totally incredulous he is. Like he can't even fathom why all this is happening.

I hope teams refuse to play in them if they go ahead

Say what ye like about FIFA but Havelange and Blatter helped turn football into the undisputed global game. If the English were still running it we'd probably be letting 1 token African country into the World Cup and calling it a day. For reference see; the fucking ICC.

Which is effectively run by India.

Doubt that's going to happen, and fans will still be going to them.

See, I like this attitude that there has to be some kind of stand made against them but the world cup is the best thing about football so I'd be pretty pissed off if there was no real world cup for 12 years

The major clubs would just put on an unofficial tournament in its place. Too much money to be lost (both inside and outside the game) to be having nothing

It has always been a global game. What them cunts have done is turn it into a corrupt game where the likes of Qatar get to host a World Cup. Meanwhile the Premier League, ran by the English, is the runaway success of modern football...

Before Havelange there was only one spot in the "World Cup" for Africa and Asia combined

England, India and Australia have all done their utmost to keep cricket as a shitty minority colonial sport.

This is total nonsense as is your assertion about the English running the game - and also, in cricket, there is TV examination of disputed calls, something which your corrupt heroes in FIFA have done everything to try to avoid - have you been reading the Grauniad guide to Political Correctness..!?

Could this have been because their sides weren't good enough at that stage..? Many Third World countries have seen lots of money poured into their football development since the 70s because their economies were picking up due to mining etc and when that happens you get an improvement in standards...they were also able to appoint better coaches from Europe.

There was a time when England had never lost to Germany, and that only ended in 1968...people need to see past Leftist dogma before making decisions about things....
