I remember the heady days of Dwayne De Rosario (one of my all-time MLS faves), Julian De Guzman, an ancient Paul Stalteri, the once and future Atiba Hutchinson, and a half dozen dudes playing in the German third division.

Atiba’s gotta be on the WC roster right?

Atiba will definitely be taken if not to play then for a leadership role. Dude has given it all for Canada and deserves this at the very least

Really excited for that growth and for my kids to hopefully join a more structured grass roots game. So much of our team is young, so we'll be competitive in CONCACAF the next decade and beyond, like you say. This is really exciting for the game here.

Forrest was the face of Saturday morning Football (PL mostly, though he did decent analysis of Serie A) here for most of my youth and 20's. He's a great human being, super approachable and you can't help but feel the feels when you see that reaction. He's a great ambassador of the game for Canada, a pro's pro. Whatever that means. :D

I know Forrest's ex and while she says he's the most boring human ever, him and Gerry Dobson were the face of PL coverage growing up here. Seeing him that excited is pure lovely

:aww:

I hope he gets to play some part of it, I know he’s had heart problems. And Craig Forrest was a decent keeper for Ipswich from memory.

120th when he took over and he's taken them to 33rd in 4 years, previous to that he took the women's team from 11th to 4th in 2 years. Very impressive resume.

If they beat Panama tomorrow (well tonight as I type), then they will likely move up to 30th in the rankings.

In the draw rehearsal earlier today…

England
Mexico
Iran
Ecuador

That would be a decent group, the game against Mexico would be a great one I think. Would also be nice not to have any European teams in our group.

Will definitely endeavour to watch the draw live tomorrow.

Draw on Friday and all the pots more or less done. Teams from same confederation can't be put into the same group except for two UEFA side.

Pot 1: Qatar, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, France, England, Portugal, Spain

Pot 2: Mexico, USA, Uruguay, Switzerland, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands

Pot 3: Iran, Senegal, Morocco, Serbia, Tunisia, Poland, South Korea, Japan

Pot 4: Canada, Ghana, Cameroon, Saudi, Ecuador, Australia/UAE/Peru, Wales/Scotland/Ukraine, New Zealand/Costa Rica

Potential to be some pretty fun groups and group A could potentially be the worst one ever at a World Cup. As a top seed, do you prefer to be in Group B for a potentially easier match in the knock-out stages or Group C so you get 1A v 2B potentially in the quarter-finals?
