I wish the centre backs and holding midfielders would step into the space ahead of them when teams sit back like this. It would open things up so more. Drive into any green grass in front of you before then looking to pass.

Instead they just end up playing sideways and backwards and the ball never gets forward as much as it should.

The centrebacks and holding midfielders need to be a lot braver. So infuriating to watch.

Rooney has at least pushed up a bit further, and Henderson needs to do the same also, as he still way too deep. The other team is so far back there is no point having Henderson quite as deep as he is at the minute.

Lovely cross from Walcott and Sturridge is on the edge of the box looking for a short pass. Need a striker that stays central and in the box. Sturridge can't be looking to play like he does for Liverpool, as the style of football is completely different. The team can't link with you and fill the gaps you leave like your Liverpool team will.

Sturridge taking up the old Rooney role of wondering wherever the f*** he wants.

It's frustrating. Even Kane was doing it in the summer a bit too.

Need Vardy or someone like Austin in there, who will stay in the box.

Spot on!! Rooney playing in midfield sums up everything wrong with this team
