8 players already pulled out of this squad. Clearly they've 0 interest in playing in the Nations League and 0 interest in playing for Carsley.

Cant blame them, third international break of the season already and entirely for a competition absolutely nobody cares about.

Yes, but without an international break, we'd never get Wilson back

Harry Kane going full Michael Owen and saying "I think England comes before anything, any club situation."

Given the choice between England winning the World Cup or their club lifting a cup, title or promotion, most fans would choose the latter.

Personally I'd take doing the double over Liverpool with last minute blatantly offside winners in both games ahead of anything The 3 Lions might win

I find it refreshing

Football has became too focussed on the franchise of a club

I had them in my head but wasn’t sure if ever four of them were all in a squad!

They were, though we never played any of the four in one game (three played quite a few times).  Venison was one who was included when we had four called up.

Clubs aren't franchises - they're representative of the place in which they're based.  Newcastle United is my effective national team - I'm from there.  England is a pale second.

It’s not the NFL  franchise, FFS.

I’m 100% club before country and I wasn’t even born in the North East and only have ties on one side of the family.

I’d rather we won the League Cup than England won the World Cup.

Internationals have become so diluted and there are too many meaningless, pointless games. I understand why players drop out if they’ve got niggly,  nagging injuries and want to focus on playing football for the club that pay their wages and for the fans that support them every week.

Maybe that last part only rings true for a small percentage of players

It is, really.  But quite a few missing, no?  Top of my head.  Saka, Rice, Palmer, Kane, Stones, Foden, Shaw, (LOL) all out.  Most of them would start in our strongest XI.

When Palmer is fit, he has to play the 10, for me.  Sounds mad to say it when he has had success there for England and in a slightly different role for Madrid.  But I don't like Bellingham there.  Always feels like he gets in the way.

My god the British (English) media are fucking rancid.
ITV news banging on about a section of England fans being unhappy with the appointment as “you’re not English” and “will he sing the national anthem”

Fucking rancid, utterly rancid.

Who the fuck cares if he sings that turgid, dire reverential shite!

Hes a good manager paid to do a job

Pandering to the lowest denominator and knuckle dragging Neanderthals as usual

Stirring up shite and they are loving it. Bet they have cameras a plenty pointed at him on his first game with morons like carragher and Neville bemoaning his non English status.

Fucking sickening

The British media won't care if he doesn't sing our 'anthem'.

They just care about how much they'll make criticising The German for not singing it.
