Lacks pace badly, but his general all-round game is very good considering his age. He took his goal superbly and showed a degree of maturity all game.

Disagree that he lacks pace like. Obviously not a quick player, but he doesn't need to be.

Like shooter Mcgavin.

Will definitely be targeted next week by the spackems. Norwich tried it today, players going down as soon as they're within a half yard of him trying to get him booked.

Absolutely love this kid.

I can't remember that happening at all. Nor a moment where he should have been sent off. Thought he just got on with doing the simple things most of the game and stayed out of bother.

He was on his best behavior no doubt, but there were a couple of incidents of players going down and immediately pointing at him trying to get him in bother. Fat Sam and the inbreds will clearly be trying the same.

Easy to mock but reckon we'd have more points by now if we had Austin, Mitrovic was always the more long term solution and a gamble in the short term. Mitrovic looks like he may be twice the player Austin is one day mind, but not yet.

Austin is the more natural goalscorer right now, but Mitro's all-around game is better IMO. He's really been essential to bringing out the best in the rest of our attacking players. Physical presence, great hold-up play, aerial threat.

Like that he went up and shook the refs hands as he was subbed off. Trying to show that he's a good boy really.

Think the whole hysteria of him being a bit tenacious has thankfully quietened in the media pretty sharp. Was worried an agenda was starting to build.

Like Ayoze, the biggest plus of Mitrovic is that he's loving it here. He's the perfect striker for Newcastle as far as attitude goes, proud to wear the shirt rather than looking at us as a stepping stone.

Or Mitrovic and another centre forward, who's not Austin.

Austin has proved he will score goals. I'm very glad we signed Mitrovic but it shouldn't have been a 'one or the other' scenario.

I would have been happy with Mitrovic and Austin but probably happier with someone other than Austin, as they are similar.

As you say, we needed two.

This, I don't disagree about Mitrovic's all round play, but think Austin in the team would have got us a win before now, and hopefully by now Mitrovic might have displaced him and be as we are now. May not seem like a huge contribution for the cost of a player but we may not be staring at the abyss.
