We have been lucky in previous season where Ba and Remy for example, were capable of creating and scoring goals out of nothing. We have had a real lack of pace and creativity, as a team going forward for years now. Until that is addressed we will always struggle for goals.

He is a striker playing up front on his own in a shit team who create very little, of course he's not going to score many

Maybe if we improved our build up play and put some decent balls in for him then he'll score a lot more. We're not a team who have supplied him very well at all and the type of striker that he is will never score solo goals from the half way line as he is not quick. Put him through on goal or a decent ball into the box and he'll bury it.

When he's been under pressure (penalty v Man Utd or the clean through ball from Shelvey v West Brom) he's slotted home. Most of his other 'misses' have been half chances where he has had to feed off of scraps.

Writing him off is ridiculous.

Do you really believe that? Most of his misses have been damn right awful.

I think it is fair to say he will never be a 20 goal a season striker. But he has the potential for maybe 10-15 with better service, and could be a good partner for a more natural finisher. His natural size and strength is a useful asset to have in any team, we just need to give him better support to take advantage of his hold up play.

He's a poor mans Charlie Austin.

Oh wait, didn't we pay £10 mill more for Mitro?

It's hard to properly judge him as we've yet to see him play in a correctly functioning team set up with a strategy to supply him with anything other than hopeful punts forward.

Was an interesting bit in one of the Benitez interviews where he said something along the lines of his teammates need to understand what he can do - think that means stuff like less through balls he's never going to get on the end of and a lot more crosses from the byline.

Don't think he's a worldbeater but we've seen him nowhere near his best yet imo.

Well that goes without saying. But if we go down we never will see his best. No way he'll play Championship football - he'll be wetting the bed every other night up against those defenders.

 I know this is a running joke now but he definitely is all mouth. He gets knocked about like a sack of shite half the time.

His physicality will be an asset when he learns how to use it, though, because we do get glimpses from time to time. But I doubt he'll ever be a natural goalscorer. Plenty younger strikers have looked ten times more clinical.

He's a backup striker in this league at his best and I doubt he'll ever be much more than that.

Today is a day for a young buck to etch his name in our hearts forever. HOWAY Alek, find your zone. I'm hoping for  a Keith Houchen style diving header (kin hell, life at the moment holds the possibility of this happening...) though will still be delighted with a ricochet off his arse.
