Corinthians just made it 3-3, unbelievably lucky. Bloke 1 heads it wildly off target, hits off bloke 2 less than award away on the side of the head knocking him over and goes in.

Didn't realise Vagner Love was back in Brazil, thought he was still raking in the coin in China.

Guessing provincial China wasn't as much fun for his off-field antics despite the coin.

Michel Platini is a fucking hero.

When Platini got reign to UEFA, he made some decisions that made the big boys mad.

Changing the CL qualification route (allowing countries of smaller nations to have the champions route), and then expanding Euros. Both these decisions were met by hostility of many people, even on here...but many years on, it has transformed European international footy.

10 years ago or so, every European internationals night had loads of 6-0, 5-0, 8-0, drubbings in it. It no longer is the case (Unless for San Marino, Gibraltar, and Andorra). No game is a guaranteed 3 points. This change in format, this extra attention and hope given to smaller nations has not only blossomed some of them to a whole new level (Iceland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Albania, etc) , but even the likes of Lichtenstein, Luxamburg, Faroe Islands, Kazakhstan, Malta etc now give every team a hard game and come up with shocks a lot more than before.

European football at international stage is a lot stronger than before. And it's all thanks to Platini for ignoring the hierarchy of gangasters and mafia, and pushing for a change to make football more competitive in Europe across all nations.

1-0 Belgium 86th minute. Looks like Wales will have to wait until the next fixtures to qualify now.

Last two games have been pretty harsh on Cyprus.

Very harsh. Just got back from this, and once again we (Cyprus) dominated possession but lack of support for the striker meant we couldn't translate the dominance into a real goal threat. Defensively Cyprus put up a great effort. Fellaini, Benteke and Origi were absolutely woeful. I don't think Benteke played a single pass to a teammate. Nainggolan and De Bruyne were full of energy and Hazard was sensational tbf. Both keepers made some decent saves, but two key moments involved Kompany who should have been sent off for an elbow, then got away with a foul and a stamp, and Belgium just played on and scored on the counter.

You seem to have forgotten the bit where he backed Qatar.

So can someone tell what Man City are getting for their £55 with De Bruyne?

Bundesligas best player last season and probably the main reason to why Wolfsburg ended second behind Bayern.

Seen him play for Chelsea Wolfsburg and Beligum and don't see anything particular special. What am I missing was the question not what his team had achieved.

Hard working and creative. Basically a massive upgrade on Milner.

Have you watched him for Belgium a lot? IMO consistently their best player (in a team that has Hazard it's not easy), consistently the best player at a Wolfsburg side that were pretty good last year. I'm not saying he's anywhere near worth that fee, but Man City don't care about fees. They've overpaid both for De Bruyne and Sterling massively, but both will improve them as well.

Just like themanupstairs said, he's a hard working and creative player. Not sure how it's going to work for him in the City set up though, he's more of a counter attacking player and will be interesting to see how much he can create against teams that park the bus, even though I think they won't have to worry to much about that as they have David Silva to do that.

 cheers for responding chaps.

Funny you both reference Milner as that is what I saw in him at best, just obviously a younger version. Not seen a lot of creativity from him the games I've seen mind. Will be interesting to see how it goes for him at Man City.
