Beren
Very disappointing to lose that and totally undeserved given the performance. Fucking awful that at the end though, it's actually soured it for me - defending a point at home? Nah that's not the way Newcastle United go about things. That's it really. It's not the NUFC way to play it safe. We're not down to 10, or even 9 men (this time). Why not have a go? It's what the club is about. It's not some "rather lose 3-4, than win 1-0" shite either before anyone says it
Mr Logic
If we can reproduce that showing again and do it consistently we'll be alright. Positives far outweigh any little negatives. Mbabu was a breath of fresh air at LB.

flyingscotsman
Always a killer to concede a late equaliser but would have taken a draw at 5pm for certain, lots of positives to take.
Jayson
Disappointing result but what a performance, team fighting for each other. Always gonna be a struggle against Chelsea but we were good. 1st half they were. 2nd half we stood off the ball all over the pitch & camped in our half. That is a mindset issue as we took the lead. The second they equalised we were out pressing them again.
Altamullan
B-more ans Hans give yourselves a shake man. Must be f*cking depressing to live in your heads. Aganst the odds performance and result today. Chelsea weren't sh*t; we played well. Enjoy it man.
Flip
Cowardly as f*** at the end there like. Chance to score the winner from the corner but we decide to play out the time. f***s sake. Was really disappointed at that, but let's be honest, at this stage any point is very much needed. We're a club in shambles, we need any point we can get. Shak
Pain in the balls that they just got a wonder goal from nowhere to get back in the game. We were cruising at 2-0, once that went in it was inevitable that doubt would creep in. Hope Colback has leg aids btw.

Guest DebuchyAndTheBeast
I'm gutted that we conceded the draw but the overall performance is very encouraging. We have to show more character especially away from home if we want to move out of trouble.
AyeDubbleYoo
Disappointing end but overall it's got to be encouraging given we were predicting an absolute humping. A few performances sound encouraging as well.
Guest firetotheworks
At home, taking it into the corner for a draw Bit sad that Not in the circumstances like. Aye not sad, fucking shameful Considering we're playing Chelsea, had conceded 2 in the second half, are low on confidence and the team were blowing out their arses, it's common sense. It's not something I normally defend, but in this case it's fair enough imo.

Were letting them pass it around our box more or less.
Tiresias
Krul - 6 Arguably should have done better but ok generally Janmaat - 7 - Usual attacking self, again had a good opportunity to score. If his finishing was better I suspect he'd be a winger by trade. Mbemba - 7 - Solid Colo - 6 - Though improved still think looks lacking in confidence Mbabu - 9 - Short of a goal perfect debut Anita - 6 First goal came from the zone he should be guarding imo, not convinced by him. Beginning of second half he could not get a touch. Colback - 7 - Better than usual apart from one horrific pass and anotehr stupid yellow. And then in a good game he gets injured. Sissoko - 5 - Had some good moments but very much to blame for giving away a silly foul for second goal, even if it was harsh Wijnaldum - 7 - Improved plenty from lackluster recent form, know he probably doesn't want to play out wide but it worked. Perez - 8 - Quality up front, had a partner Mitrovic - 8 - Disciplined and a beast of a centre forward, did everything bar score very well

chicago_shearer
Schteve telling him to walk off at the end....FFS. The league has changed. Nothing teams will take points off Chelsea. The performance should be something to build on but to be in that position and choke is so deflating.

Nap sorry that's just a load of shit - you score from a corner and then you try and keep it safe when you need 3 points - if it's 2 - 1 yes but not when you need the win

Were letting them pass it around our box more or less. We shit ourselves at half time. The only reason we got that 2nd was mbabu actually taking a hold of the game & chasing Hazard across the pitch to win it back. That is the kind of player we need, then we score from him putting us on the counter. Our only attack. The rest was more sitting back. You cant allow players of that quality time to pass the ball man.
