Jonjo Shelvey (now playing for Burnley)

The problem is that as is being mentioned here, he is a luxury player. Except the level of luxury being talked about is a faltering alfa that gets you to the supermarket 1 time out of 10, the other 9 times you are ringing up roadside assistance.

Stop comparing players that are nothing alike.

If you think they are not alike in regard to lack of discipline in a crucial role then you are clueless.

Fabregas is completely immobile, can't tackle and doesn't look to play Shelvey/Gerrard type passes, at all.  But because he apparently lacks positional discipline.  You compare him to Gerrard?  It's as bad as the Ramsey, Charlie Adam, and Gerrard comparisons.  Just quit now, whilst you're behind.

Such a mongrel.

Fabregas definitely tries to find the killer ball often. He's not always looking to switch play but he's going for the jugular a lot.  He's not immobile, he finds plenty of time to vacate his position with rouge forward runs.

He spent his final 2/3 years at Arsenal getting his game more like Gerrard's. More willing to break the lines as a CM with forward runs, no care for positional discipline or defensive tactics, a lot of focus on goals & assists rather than dictating play. Against better sides probably best used in a real midfield 3 or a #10.

"Guardiola's comment about the "anarchy" that Fabregas brings to the side was a backhanded compliment -- he also pointed out that he needed to hold his runs more. Other Barca insiders pointed the finger at Fabregas when the team's form started to slip. He had become too "English" in his style of play, they believed, too eager to attack quickly."

Back to Shelvey - so useless off the ball. Annoying pointing. Isn't even particularly good on the ball. Slow feet. Can barely move. Not sure he's any better than JC or VA.

Waste of a signing and money, doesn't offer much but hollywood balls.

Those three points at home to West Ham might be critical, like.

Fucking garbage signing. When you think of the aid we needed in January - and we ended up with this guy, absent from arguably our best performance of the season. :anguish:

Worst trainer in the club according to Lascelles. Not surprising, looks lazy as f*** when he plays as well

Where did Lascelles say that?

In the programme for tonights game

The actual comments sounded pretty savage when read out on Sky, something along the lines of "He can be the best trainer but when his head isn't right he let's it affect him too much and is the worst" [emoji38] Jamal taking candour to a whole new level lately.

Wouldn't be surprised if he started on Saturday given Rafas predeliction for changing things and Liverpools possible change of team, not exactly a high pressurising team so maybe a game for him ?

You've never seen a Jurgen Klopp team before.  Not a high pressuring team. :spit:

I've watched Liverpool a few times this season and no they haven't been.

Was it jokey ('who's longest in the shower?' type thing) or serious? Because that's pretty strong stuff if not.

He's more of a number 10,just add him to the list of number 10s in the squad.

He isn't, his long passing is his best attribute by a mile. He's not agile or skillful enough to be a number 10

Late to the the conversation but I agree with this. I feel that if you asked him where he'd prefer to play, he'd say #10 but he's obviously not good enough to play there.
