I remember the first half of the season being boring but effective football. Second half of the season we played some fantastic stuff. I just think it can and should be separated from all the other Pardew stuff before and after. It was a good season, and IMO to suggest Pardew didn't play his full part in it is wrong and unfair. Amir_9 Posted February 25, 2018 Share Posted February 25, 2018 Man... as mentioned earlier, folks obviously forgot the f***ing heaps of praise we gave him (even calling him a silver fox..) after that season ended and him winning manager of the year He deserves a fair share of credit for that season, in all honesty people are so clouded and biased with their judgement sometimes He's been found out to be out of his depth and a fluke of a manager for the most part but it cannot be taken away that accomplishment and he was part of the entire group of people that gave our best season in years. I don't think I'll ever really believe that he played a big part in it beyond the Pardew bounce and harbouring the team spirit and momentum we built - which is still fair enough. How much he had to do with Ba, Cisse, HBA, and Cabaye being in the form of their lives we'll never really know, but we have enough evidence following that season to be able to say that at the very least, it almost certainly wasn't as much as we collectively thought at the time.
