Saido Berahino stays at West Brom

Perhaps we don't want to pay 25m+ on him. Hardly surprising.

Yet West Brom have already stated they want at least that, thus " we tried " they know this hasn't got a hope in hell of being accepted but it will still be seen as a piece of positive PR.

I might be less of BS practice if they didn't wait till the very last minute to offer something substantial like they constantly do.

You just aren't being rational.

I don't see how West Brom can command a fee of 30m for a player who is out of favour, not playing and has been publicly chastised for being disruptive. They're obviously pushing the boat out in terms of value and we're trying to turn their heads with our value, which is probably closer to his actual worth. He's only going to depreciate in value so I think we have a chance especially with money up front.

Is the "money up front" a big enough game changer to consider accepting a smaller overall offer?

We've done it loads of times in the Ashley era, so you'd think it works.

Difficult to say what the hit-rate is really given that it's more-or-less the only way we have ever done things under Ashley, after they saw we were still paying for the likes of Emre and Luque years after they'd signed?

He played the full match yesterday man.

What does that have to do with us making an offer?  Or are you just saying that their may still be life for Berahino at West Brom?

Er, it's a response to the post above it.

If we go to 25 surely they will accept?

Stupidity by us if we miss out on a player that we clearly want for the sake of a few million. The money in football is so silly nowadays that a few million here or there doesn't make a difference. I still think 21 will be accepted.

When was the last time we were active in the last 48 hours, normally we do fuck all in the closing hours of the window.

I remember being stuck at work late and being furious we'd not got a decent striker in and had only signed Sibierski!

That's the point though, we apparently are not going to and it will be another case of not getting our man because we want to squabble over a few million.

Hasn't only one journalist said they won't increase? you're certainly clinging onto it.

This lad has the potential to be one of the best in the country, Unfortunatly he has a little bit of an attitude problem. His advisors convinced us to pay around 20m for him in the summer but he changed agents & the deal was gone. Saido does not want to be there he's not in the team they should take the money, saying that though if Spurs match the bid we have no chance.

Because it's the only one who has said either way  Besides it fits into our usual way of doing things.

It's easy saying that sitting on a laptop. When you actually have to decide , it's a different matter.
