Yet West Brom have already stated they want at least that, thus " we tried " they know this hasn't got a hope in hell of being accepted but it will still be seen as a piece of positive PR. I might be less of BS practice if they didn't wait till the very last minute to offer something substantial like they constantly do. You just aren't being rational. They're obviously pushing the boat out in terms of value and we're trying to turn their heads with our value, which is probably closer to his actual worth. We've done it loads of times in the Ashley era, so you'd think it works. Difficult to say what the hit-rate is really given that it's more-or-less the only way we have ever done things under Ashley, after they saw we were still paying for the likes of Emre and Luque years after they'd signed? His advisors convinced us to pay around 20m for him in the summer but he changed agents & the deal was gone.
