Stoke City 1-0 Newcastle United - post match standing watching from page 24

Recommended Posts

He isn't looking for a win, he's just looking to not lose tonight. As tragic as it is to watch, if we earn a point today that's a decent result for us.

Exactly. We (they) have forfeited the right to go away from home and play open football. If we do so, we will get hammered.

Our best bet is to pick up some draws and win our home games.

It's the definition of madness, trying something repeatedly expecting a different result. It's still nowhere near as bad as this stage last season but McFuck has to go. He couldn't motivate a diddler in a crèche..

Turgid stuff. Will happily take 45mins of the same at this stage.

We're awful defensively and need to start picking up away points. If there's a time of the season to forget pretty football and just do what needs doing, this is it.

We've not played pretty football away from home, all season! It's just the same rubbish which has gotten worse by the month. There's zero gameplan, belief or determination. Too many simply going through the motions, with one eye on their next move and of course, backed by an impotent and clueless coach.

We've approached games more openly and been cut through with alarming ease.

When? :???:

We have tried to. Mclaren hasn't played defensively away from home, he's just done nowt. We have been far too open in our away games. I'm not watching but it seems this is an attempt to shut up shop, as tragic as it is.

Aye lets just go and "pick up some draws," like we're in any position to try and keep a clean sheet.

We don't need to go gung-ho, but we need to pose an attacking threat otherwise we'll lose or get lucky.

This is the kind of defeatist mentality that Pardew, Carver and now McClaren have installed that, surprise, surprise, has not even worked. We get battered or lose each time we try for a draw, yet these fucking cunt of managers keep repeating the mantra as they fade this club into oblivion.

Wait, Shelvey is captain?

Coloccini was man. Who else would it be? Janmaat, maybe? Gini?

Tbh, I would have expected it to go to bantz or colback.

Janmaat would have been my choice from this crock of shit team we have.

Anyone.  Shelvey is one of the least "captain" players there are on our team.  In fact I cant think of a worse one apart from Gouffran

You can pose an attacking threat whilst being sound at the back.

We aren't doing the former but if we get a clean sheet, we will have tried to do the latter.
