Stifler
They have recently spent a lot of money on a new training ground/academy complex in South Shields with a category 1 rating. Alongside the fact that a month ago they couldn't afford to buy any new players then it's doubtful that they will be buying a training ground in London and ferrying players in for home matches. It's FFP rules that is preventing them from spending money.

Wallsendmag
What they've spent on the trip to New York could have paid the annual salaries for a fair few of their other workers who will currently be on minimum wage or slightly higher. Shame really.

Heron
Wouldn't it be nice to think that employees who have probably been lifelong supporters and what-not could have their yearly salaries paid for by the players taking a 1 week pay cut? Would never happen like but it should.

xLiaaamx
They're doing it regardless of relegation. It's not just cost cutting because they're going down.
sleazy
i think its in case of relegation, by the time the compulsory negotiation period is over they will know their league status.
Sima
Just been reminded of this from a few weeks back Doesn't tally with them binning off some of their staff nowadays.

Decky
Was in Sunderland for their game against Southampton a few weeks ago. Their stadium really is dreadful and the staff are hopeless. Now that's stuff that can be changed but what about the town? Do they genuinely think it's better than Newcastle? I've taken loads of friends and family to Newcastle and they think its a great town, I've taken most to Sunderland as well for various reasons and not one didn't think it was a shit hole. Wallsendmag
Whenever the mackems are at home there's always loads of the opposition supporters drinking in Newcastle and then getting the Metro through to the village of the dammed at the last minute then back into Newcastle after the match. It's such an unwelcoming and pointless place for anyone from outside of there to visit. Unless you're unfortunate enough to live there it's just one of those places that you just wouldn't go to other than out of necessity. Seen they've started mocking our flag displays as well now. Sh*t idea blah blah, yet you just know it's something that they'll try and copy in the very near future. Not sure how they'll get a load of empty seats to start waving flags like but that's their problem.
