When "big" clubs became financial powerhouses that bought out all of the talent from academies and lower league teams to fill out their reserve teams, thus using this as an opportunity to utilise them. When the gap between the "big" clubs and the quality in the top flight were so distant from lower leagues due to Sky and the money involved. Just a few arguable points to roll with...
