So either that or appeasing gullible fans, although that might come via a pretend bid, or in no form at all saying as they no longer even pretend to not be cunts. Like "NUFC transfer rumours in the press - Carry on" when there's blatently nothing. Then "NUFC transfer rumours in the press - Stop!" when there's actually some news to read.
