SUPERTOON
Rafa ran out of ideas so resorting to Carrs little black book of lengthy pursuits? Seems to be the case with our latest targets.

Wallsendmag
Great news. Bas will tear this league a new one Still can't see us getting him.
BONTEMPI
Not convinced by what I've seen of Bas Dost. Was hoping for someone in the mould of Remy. Pacey but a bit of bulk.
Mole_Toonfan
On Dost I don't really rate him but surely he'd be effective at this level?
Dave
Maybe they both had the same targets on their lists No that's definitely not possible. Nor is it remotely possible that Benitez simply thinks a player we've apparently scouted extensively could be a good signing.
KaKa
Rafa wants two complete teams it looks like. Bas and Gayle / Mitro and Ayoze pairings upfront. That would be pretty awesome as far as striker options.
Ikon
It's not like Bas Dost is an unknown player so Rafa probably knows who he is

joeyt
I am Graham Carr http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,67828.msg2286439.html#msg2286439
nemtizz
It's not like Bas Dost is an unknown player so Rafa probably knows who he is What are the chances he has actually seen Dost play? It's not as if he's a manager or a scout.

Exactly, not surprised control over transfers has been handed back to Carr after shockers like Selz, Hanley and the rest of that mob tbh
Mole_Toonfan
Why are people unconvinced by his guy? He's scored goals in leagues way better than this one. Because most of the time when he's had good seasons he's basically been fed goals on a plate. Like I said he should do well in this division but tbh his goal record is a bit misleading. He's a striker, he's supposed to be putting chances away and by the sounds of his record he has been doing it and if he's getting in those positions and making it look so easy then great. I've never seen him play before but I don't think I believe that you've seen much of him either.

54
Why are people unconvinced by his guy? He's scored goals in leagues way better than this one. Which leagues are way better than this one? Bundesliga, it assume. Although apparently his record is inconsistent at Wolfsburg, so the jury is out. He also scored 32 in 34 at Heerenveen, and i'd say Eredivisie is on par with the Championship. Pretty much 1 in 2, what does he need to do - score in every game?
Ronaldo
Why are they willing to let him go if he's a proven Bundesliga player? Just asking.
