Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

wiki says he's scored 10 goals in 69 games since 2013 and is a forward

sounds good

Most websites have him down as a right winger

The Guardian did a piece about which player PL teams should target this summer. Never heard of the guy they think we should buy

https://www.theguardian.com/football/who-scored-blog/2017/jun/01/premier-league-summer-transfer-target-clubs

Antonio Conte would clearly like more options on the right and he’s rumoured to have an interest in his near-namesake, Conti,

 grasping

Can the Chronicle please confirm they aren't related?

Here's how our squad looks for next season if rumours are to be believed.  :D

                            REINA

                            Darlow

YEDLIN        SEMEDO.    CLARK.      GIBBS

Sterry.          Lascelles.    Leijune.    Dummett

                MCCARTHY.    SHELVEY

                  Hayden.        Delph.

RITCHIE.                PEREZ.              GROSICKI

  Atsu.                  De Jong.              Aarons

                              GAYLE

                            Abraham

Perez should be nowhere near a regular starter he's proved he's not good enough for this league we need a much better player in that role

Totally agree, i'm surprised we haven't been linked with more number 10s to be honest.  It's probably our weakest position along with LW.  I hope we get a quality player in early in the window.

We seem to go through phases where we'll pick on a particular club for players like.

(PSG, Deportivo, Lille, Anderlecht...)

Of the players who've been linked, Josh King could play #10. I suspect Cairney would be played there too, if the idea is to play Shelvey because we'd definitely need a DM on the pitch. With Perez and Diame, Rafa has already spent a season alternating the #10 between a second striker and a midfielder.

I'd forgotten about those 2, although i thought Cairney would be more competition for Shelvey than a no.10

I never knew Sagna was a a right back.  All these years of him playing in the Premier League.  All those matches on Match of the Day.  All those Champions League appearances.  The odd game where he would play at left back or center back and I'd think, "funny, he's playing out of position."  Sagna being a right back has come as a huge surprise to me.

Interesting if we sign a whole new back four. I guess that would mean two CB's leaving in Hanley and Mbemba. Personally I'd rather get rid of Lascelles than Mbemba. Having 5 cbs might be a good idea though, just in case.

They'll want to sign a striker who will be backup to Kane but add something different if they do need a goal off the bench, which Janssen hasn't done so far. Been linked with Andre Gray this summer

Don't get me wrong he has had injuries but it's mainly just Monreal is the preferred option.

I'd very much like to see us sign him.

Not for 15 million when we have other areas we should prioritise.

Left back should be one of the priorities unless anyone feels comfortable watching Dummett getting raped on a weekly basis.

No but the fact we aren't great on the left wing, lacking a quality number 10 and are one injury from Colback are of greater concern for me.

Not to mention we absolutely require a good keeper.
