This is bollocks. Stop using stupid internet terms if you are actually interested in discussing the topic.

OK Hovagod. I won't use Internet terms. What terms shall I use? Ones that allow a certain person, with a certain point, get away with talking shite, without being offended?

"Grim" and "humiliating" celebrating our greatest ever monarch.

I'm not even a monarchist but the anti-monarchy tripe over the last few days, is even worse than the pro-monarchist sycophantic rhetoric.

Is no-one else on this forum middle of road? Happy enough to doff the cap to the old bird, whilst also understanding that an old school monarchy has no place in the modern world?

I'm sure something with a nice balance could be done at SJP that's respectful without being over the top. I'm sure the far left morons will look at this as some sort of nod towards human rights abuses of the British Empire. Can't have anything normal these days without the virtue signalling brigade rock up to tell you what you didn't know about British history.

Are you volunteering to gather the union jacks for the event?

A bit more to it than a doff of a cap, I reckon.

People are not advocating that we burn an effigy of her before kick off, they just don’t think we should be going out of our way to celebrate her. That’s the most middle of the road opinion possible.

The more I think on it the more I want Wor Flags to steer well clear. It’s not worth the arse ache. It’ll be out of mind by the time we play Brentford. Leave that shite to Rangers.

It's middle of the road for N-O, not for Britain.

No I wouldn't have Union Jack's, sadly those have been stolen by right wing morons.

I'll support whatever Wor Flags decide to do, I'm not a fan of the forced participation ideas floating about on twitter.

I am nigh on 100% certain we won't be enforcing crowd participation in any potential display for HRH.

Oh crikey don't start with Britain. Middle of the road is demanding everyone do what you want, screaming when they don't but it all really coming down to whatever occasion gets you pissed on Carling.

Lots of mourning going on in Town today.

Found one. I definitely think if you can't have a conversation about the royal family without mentioning something that happened a long time ago, you are almost certainly virtue signalling.

The funny thing about history is that good AND bad things happened. It's a hard concept to grasp.

Howay man. She's an owld bird who's done no harm for decades, without history she's an unknown granny to us all.

The other consideration - unmentioned so far I think - is some stadium-wide activity  backfiring because some fans get pissed off with those who aren’t minded to take part.

Or those who don't want anything done being pissed off at those doing something...

Using the general population's opinion as a sample, though, it'd definitely be angled towards what christ said.

Dunno how many others are like me, but I don't sing the national anthem anyway. It's not particularly the monarchist aspect but the religious element. It's a glorified hymn and I'm not a Christian.

Retail park down here was rammed, as per. Went in JD for some socks and was nearly brought to tears by the amount of people buying North Face and Napapijri gear in her honour.

It's not even about being pro or anti monarchy, it's simply about what's relevant to Wor Flags, NUFC and football in general.
