Relying on the Leazes End full stop doesn't end well. Remember them somehow turning a huge surfer flag into a bow tie at the Brighton match.

I'm in the Gallowgate tonight so will get a good look at it anyway. Hope they don't mess up after all the hard work that's been put in.

TBF there was one or two mistakes with the preparation on that one. The Wings is a concern but versus PSG and Dortmund etc. They all managed fine. I think they know well enough they might be required nowadays, but hopefully I'm not counting my chickens

Was in the Gallowgate tonight. Took a couple of photographs and honestly they look sensational. They'll be on my camera reel forever. Haven't got a clue how to pit them on here so don't ask!

Was the highlight of the night. Once again they've done themselves proud and well done the Leazes End for what looked like a 100% participation.

First and foremost - thank you for the kind comments.

However, if I may - I'd like a little rant...

Why the fuck does the crowd give up when we go 1 down? Like I just don't get it. We can try to be a catalyst for the atmosphere (with the displays) and I genuinely thought it was good until they scored and then it went off a cliff edge. Like, I get the display and atmosphere should be reciprocated (on the pitch) but we were probably the better side first half and yet as soon as they scored the towel was thrown in.

We have an unbelievable home record for a team that has come from what it did to now. At home we should absolutely rally behind the lads in the face of adversity. Yet it's like a switch, people go from "Howe is mint" to "Howe is shit". Each player is mint (apart from a few) to each player is shit (especially a few).

It's absolutely fucking diabolical at times.

Honestly think our support is arguably the best in the country when they're up for it. But my God when the "odds are in our favour" and the results don't match we're just a cesspit of negativity and misery.

Very little positive in life comes from a negative attitude.

Well done wor flags, top class that. The Leazes display was incredible, think it looks class seeing the flags being waved by everyone in a full stand.

Probably in the wrong place this but since it's been brought up surely last night again shows that a new stadium could improve the atmosphere 10 fold.

I was in the Gallowgate (upper), our so called home end and it was shocking. You look around at the demographic of people in there and in the olden days most of them would have retired to the East Stand or the old West/Milburn Stand by now but they're still sat there behind the goal draining the life out of the place.

Noticed yesterday, even at 0-0 when the atmosphere was decent, even when a good song goes up there's probably less than 1 in 6 people joining in and looking around the ground it's just pockets of fans trying to get things going but they're just too diluted and spread out.

The SE Corner is still the best bit but even they went pretty quiet 2nd half. You've got maybe 1,500 or so in there doing their best. Pockets of fans in the Gallowgate Upper, maybe numbering 1,000 or so were trying to get things going as well. Fair play to those in the NE Corner as even in the 2nd half you could hear them trying to rouse the team and then you've got someone the young 'uns up next to the away fans in L7 who sing. Problem is they're all so spread out. A new stadium would enable us to get them all together, in one stand and immediately you've got a good few thousand like minded supporters all in the same place and an immediate upturn in the atmosphere.

I mentioned this the other day about the acoustics and once again it was evident tonight. Literally couldn't hear the away fans from where I was sat but I left on 85 cos the buses are an absolute joke for midweek games (ended up having to walk back to Wallsend after Wimbledon) and the West Ham fans sounded very loud as I was walking past the Labour Club and could still hear them on Percy Street, yet not a thing inside the ground!

A stadium that retains the noise would be much better than the design we have now.
