Do the Back Page sell scarves? Gave one of mine to some kid in Brugge years ago and lost/left the other one in a pub at an away day. Could do with getting another tomorrow, really.

Yeah they have a massive selection.

Class from them. Big effort considering today wasn’t a huge game in the grand scheme of things.

Cheers mate. Actually really appreciate you noticing. Been freezing for the lads and lasses this week to get that done but we felt it was a new year and a new opportunity to help us kick start the season

Bit sad that I've had texts off lads over in Holland saying how much they're looking forward to the atmosphere tonight given how disappointing the Liverpool fans were at Anfield, and Arsenal fans were at the Emirates, and I'm having to lower their expectations saying it'll be pretty much the same and it's not going to be the bouncing cauldron they're expecting.

Looking forward to seeing the Gallowgate End display from the away end anyway.

Yes it's shit isn't it. It's easy to get behind your team when they're doing well. I've taken great pride in the fact historically we have also got behind the team when we've been struggling. Would be nice if we turned back the clock tonight and in the difficult fixtures coming up.

I think it’s the opposite actually, to a point anyway.

The fact that we’re a good team now, has massively increased expectations, and with expectation comes complacency. Or just the fact that these occasions are now viewed as the norm, and not a special occasion. Last week’s semi final a good example.

Of course there are plenty of other factors that have been well-documented previously, but I feel like the above is one of the biggest contributors, even if it is just human nature to a degree.

Fans have every right to voice concerns, that’s football. But it’s still gutting to see expectations completely take over what should be a really special time for the club.

Honestly, this is probably the best spell in my lifetime as a NUFC fan, and yet the moaning and getting on players’ backs feels just as bad as ever. It just shows that relative success doesn’t always equal happiness. Nights like this should have St James’ rocking. It’d be such a letdown if it was flat tonight.
