If not for injury Murray would've stepped up imo.

Wood is 25. Abraham is 19 ffs. Both have a decent chance of becoming good PL players. In fact, I would be disappointed if Abraham didn't go on to become a very good PL striker at the least. I'd like us to go for Abraham tbh.

The likes of Deeney & Gray have done pretty well coming up from the Championship in recent seasons. Hope Gayle can too.

The only difference with Abraham is he would be surrounded by class, and obviously age on his side. But this is the same Chelsea who didnt give Lukaku a chance and others.

Bamford was on fire at this level also, he went on to do not much later.

Murray wont be stepping up at his age now, I think this is his best level or coming off the bench for a prem side perhaps.

Wood has been tested at this level on many occasions. But done nothing in the prem, but ploughing goals in for fun down here.

Even think Vidra was lethal at this level.

The point raising Abraham in the first place was highlighting how its much easier at this level, is it his first proper time out on loan?and on loan at a side really struggling.

Just saying pinning our hopes on Gayle is a big ask.

Priority would be to get someone to partner Shelvey.

Delph would be perfect.

Wood has a total of 10 Premier League appearances, stretching back to when he was 17. Fewer than Adam Armstrong. Think it's safe to say he's not been given the chance at that level.

The question is why though at his age. Maybe like Armstrong  he would or has found it difficult. He is 25 and you say since he was 17, so in 8 years he has not pushed on.

If we get promoted we are looking at a new spine. Centre forward, no 10, Central midfielder, Centre half and a wide player (left or right depending on who we can get, quite happy for Ritchie to swap sides if needs be), that's minimum and to go straight into the first team.

A left back with some end product would be a top priority for me.

I know for sure that we had a deal agreed for Jetro Willems had we survived so wonder if we might revive that avenue?

As madras says; a new spine with prem class is desperately needed. My shouts in priority order:

- Feisty Nº10

- Defensive midfielder who can play as well

- Centre forward

- Left back

- Ball playing centre back

I'd hoy in a winger too.
