I wouldn't consider anything "done" until we see it on the official site, like.

I sometimes think Charnley negotiating with foreign agents must be a bit like when Tommy and Gorgeous George go to buy the pikey caravan.

Boumsong, Coloccini, Mbiwa and Mbemba haven't been cheap mind. Particularly the first two compared to transfer fees at the time.

Though the fact that's 4 in 15 years backs your point up.

Sounds like its more or less done!

Haven't even agreed a fee for him so lets not get ahead of ourselves.

I meant the agreement on the fee which sounds to be very close. But Yeah maybe a bit early.

That's an insane clause if true, but if we agree it it means we're very confident that this lad is good, since if he flops in his first season it means hanging on to him/loaning him out for 4 years due to the risk of him ending up back in Portugal.

So in theory if we sold him back to Sporting next year for £20m we'd have to give them £10m to take him

Exactly my thoughts. It doesn't make sense!? Plus they have preference in a future sale.

Can we buy him, then sell him to Gateshead or something for 1 buck before resigning him for 100k?

Antirivalry clause is no biggie anyway. There's far bigger clubs and leagues around.
