Ryan
Can't wait for 6 different Chronicle articles on Lejeune saying basically the same thing. Why Rafa went for Lejeune, Here's everything you need to know about him, What's next, What is his favourite Nintendo 64 game, Here's who looks likely to leave now bah blah.. I'm just looking forward to them all now posting on Twitter that they understand the deal is close etc... now that it's being reported elsewhere. They never seem to get any decent transfer scoops now.

Nobody
Finally learning that paying everything up front is not always the best way to do things? It's a recipe for cash flow problems. Our last set of accounts hinted towards that, didn't they? We're still waiting on a lot of money from the Wijnaldum and Sissoko deals, so we're fine financially, but don't have a lot of cash reserve. HawK
Finally learning that paying everything up front is not always the best way to do things? It's a recipe for cash flow problems. It's the done thing abroad to pay for transfers in instalments, so Ashley's policy of all cash up front might 'confuse' some foreign teams, especially a team like Eibar which is so small. Guaranteed income over X years looks better for their business than a lump sum. Might be going there in a few weeks, wife was born near there and off to see her family on hols. Matching principle states you must recognise the income in the period that it's received, so the full value of the transfer would be shown in this years accounts, even if physical cash is received in future periods. Tooj
If he has a release clause then surely they can't dictate how the money is paid?
Elliottman
If he has a release clause then surely they can't dictate how the money is paid? Well they can surely dictate its paid up front or nothing at all, otherwise whats stopping clubs paying £50 a month for 467 years
LFEE
If he has a release clause then surely they can't dictate how the money is paid? It's not the total that they are haggling. It's the structure of how to pay that total that they are negotiating.

They wont know shit about him, except what other sources and quick reads they can gather. All I know is If he was being watched by Arsenal and a few other big sides he must be fairly good. The time he was with City would have been impossible to get into their back four let alone midfield.
Tooj
I know it's not the total, but surely if somebody has a release clause and the value is met the team making the payment can dictate terms? Unless specified in the contract I suppose.

Far short of the release clause.
