He would have been on the bench for you as well to be fair.

If I’m Delap I’d prefer subbing in, playing with or starting instead of just Isak for then having to fight Jackson, Ekitike and whoever else those freaks sign by the end of the summer.

Isak will be the stonewall first choice though. Like you're never starting over him in big games. There's a better chance for him to break through at Chelsea IMO.

Agreed but the gut feel of a lot of our fans is that Isak will go to a mega club on the continent next season - wouldn’t surprise me if he was Lewandowski’s replacement at Barca. Delap has a season bedding in and then becomes number 1 next season.

His life, his choice and all that but I feel he’s made a daft one. Only time will back that up or not.

Players make poor decisions following them being pushed by their agents, they don't look outside the box and give a season or so will twigg "I've cocked up coming here", opportunity for others to grab.

Neither will Delap at Chelsea. The added thing at us, there was a genuine chance he could play with Isak in games, at Chelsea it's one or the other under Maresca.

Edit: Delap will be moving on in 12 months anyway, and that's the annoying part for me.

Surprised by that.

Had been a lot of talk they were looking to upgrade on him.

Could be posturing with Barca after being contacted by Saudi clubs and getting an idea of what they'd pay for him. Saying "clear not for sale" but also "unless bids land to change stance" feels like a bit of classic press briefing to tell interested clubs you'll drive a hard bargain but let him go for the right price

Not for sale but is for sale for the right price. Classic.

Every single player in the world is for sale. It's all about how much clubs are willing to pay in a transfer fee and wages. Clubs saying "we won't sell at any price" are bullshitters of the highest order.

Alright Froggy, no need to let logic get in the way of me being a petty prick.

Barcelona offering £30m. Saudi to come in for £85m.

Well for all the £250,000 talk, Fabrizio Romano has come out and rubbished that. As expected.

Just listened to the Talk of the Devils podcast too (thanks Disco). Laurie Whitewell saying that it's all come from the North East. Bruised reporting was his words. Definitely not my words.

Where did Romano say this and how much is he saying the wages will be?

We’re back to wanting to flog Gordon are we? Sometimes I think we will never have a squad here. As soon as someone goes off the boil, or is on the bench for a while (Barnes, Miley) folks are plotting their exits.

No, but I want this Cordero kid to be so good that EH considers letting AG leave.

Gordon’s “blah blah blah” reaction to the original Liverpool rumours btw
