But I thought Forest were massive now. They were gutted at no CL and couldn’t imagine lowering themselves to play conference league football. What happened. Guy prob saw how much of a fail Gio Reyna’s move there was and thought fuck that.

I think we are a good team without doubt, I just don't view us as title contenders and I doubt we can become that this window no matter what we do.

I think if you have a look at the squads of actual title contenders it becomes clear as to why.

I do believe we have a manager who is capable of winning the title however.

With a smart and aggressive window we can go from a 4-8th squad to a 3rd - 6th squad.

You have to consolidate the position imo.  We can agree to disagree.

I actually think our work so far indicates we are going for it.  I think the Trafford transfer is one you do from a position of power. I don’t think he comes in and takes the shirt straight away unless Pope is sold.

I agree we have to go for it, I just think no matter what we feasibly do we won't be challenging for the title.

But let's park that, it's all good to disagree on such points.

If we manage to bring in Say Elanga, João Pedro, Trafford and a top centre half consider me happy.

I'd blow my load.

If we had Sandro optimised from the start it’s a 75+ point season for us. Our problem is that lack of depth.

Id be happy with those transfers + a CM Howe would play ahead of changing formations due to unavailability of 2 players.

^ I do agree and have said this for ages that the biggest missing piece for is our 4th CM (who can play as an 8 or 6) isn’t an older head who offers the experience to slot in and play meaningful minutes. I do not think it needs to be some flashy 23 year old attacker; I think it needs to be a relatively unexciting name or a player who’s best days are past him but is a capable player when called upon.

From an experience standpoint point - I believe in Dan Burn we have that at CB (who actually is a class CB and an incredible leader for us), and at least a few seasons ago, we had that in Callum Wilson (great leader, greater striker at that time). Trippier fails into this bucket.

I think anyone with a meaningful choice takes Turin over Nottingham, despite its “lace quarter”.

Fully fit we can be brilliant. Shown this time and again. Beat full strength first and second to win the cup.

2 maybe 3 into the first team is fine. It’s the depth we lack.  Particularly in the front 6.

If we get the players we want/need - the first team is mostly of a great age.

We were arguably a fully-fit Isak in those last 2 games away from finishing 2nd last season. We're very close. More quality and depth and we'll be fucking brilliant. I know others are strengthening too but I think Howe gives us an edge on a lot of the Head Coaches at the top as well.
