It’s a helluva a lot of depth and quality.  It’s the reason they’ve finished above us for 2 seasons mostly due to having so much more quality in depth which really counts towards the end of the season.  
 

They won’t win the CL or the league.  Bur they can cope comfortably with the amount of games for the squad to requalify. It’s the number of games - especially through winter that stopped Villa finishing top 5.

The players they sign are not that impressive imo. Delap, Pedro, Gittens joining Madueke, Neto and Jackson. Only Palmer is a proper top player of all of those. I'd have Barnes and Gordon over the majority of those players named. Isak obviously miles clear of them all. They just have strength in numbers but still fairly tame 11v11.

Yeah fair enough. But if they won’t win the league or CL then they’re basically still competing in roughly the same area as us. Despite signing hundreds of players. I just don’t think I’d call that a super team.

Fairs.  We’re actually better than them. But we run out of legs and bodies. 
 

There’s a good chance they improve again and get 74+ points. Don’t rate Maresca mind.

Chelsea seem determined to not do it the easy way, which would be to buy a top top striker.

If you have an effton of money, my advice would be to not have a defensive midfielder as your and pretty much the league's record signing.

Buy a twenty goal a season striker. If you can afford Caicedo, Enzo, and Mudryk (sp?), all 100M plus?, you can afford better than Joao Pedro, half of whose goals were pens.
