Fair enough on the last part but watching other clubs transfers and somehow linking them to our potential lack of activity is definitely a negative take.

 

You could have said "wow we must be signing a class CB if we aren't interested in Diomande" but you didn't.

Why is what I said negative? My initial comment was about budget utilisation and how we might allocate our resources. Nothing negative about that. 

 

In Terms of Diomande, he would be a somewhat logical target no? Young, extremely highly rated and at that price the type of player who will appreciate it value. 

 

Again, to reiterate in speculating as you are.

If you'd said "Given our lack of links and the amount of money we've likely got to spend, I wonder if we've shelved a CB for this window." I'd have not batted an eyelid.

 

It's simply linking the above to Crystal Palace signing Diomande that im refuting. Im sure he is a good player but there's no real evidence of us being interested and im sure we have our reasons beyond financial. If we go all summer doing that, I'll lose my mind.

I really like Elliot, depends what he means by regular game time at elite level I guess. He probably wouldn't start every PL game at the top 3 in this country.

To clarify in case of doubt, im linking Diomande going to Palace in reference to us potentially having to compromise and not fill all of our holes. 

 

For me, a 10/10 summer looks like this. 

 

Trafford/ keeper who has popes ability but can actually kick a ball. 

Top notch centre half to replace Fabi. 

Central midfielder who can actually compete to start games 

Top notch right winger to fight Murphy 

Striker who has the potential to replace Isak for when he's injured or..

Fullback who can cover both sides 

 

So when I say compromise I mean missing out on one of those areas.

Just reading today that Spurs are in the market for a RW, and are interested in Semenyo and Kudus before anyone gets too excited at the prospect of us getting a free run. 

 

Oh and Chelsea are looking at Kudus too.
