Semenyo is being linked to Froggys lot.

Aye sadly. I think them or dippers are most likely of the lot from what's being touted. I said in the vein of. Didn't particularly mean 'PL-proven', just that they're strong, fearless, not afraid to take on their man and create chances. Far cry from some of our forwards really :anguish:

Dippers not expecting any activity this window. The 1b in debt Manchester United however no problem.

Where would Semenyo play for ManU? They have Cunha, Sesko and Mbeumo up front, certainly he is not thought to be wingback?

I would say the hope would be that we're in European competition next year and need a bigger squad.

That will be interesting. I think they are keen to move Savinho on spurs were ready to pay daft money in the summer weren't they?

Aye, close to 60 million for Savinho apparently. He started well at City, hasn’t kicked on at all though.

We did? Didn't hear this. Andy Howe wasn't in a position of authority at Bournemouth so I think you mean he recommend him? This must have been when Forest were in the Champo mind.

yeah it was. Howe was in their scouting department (maybe even chief scout, not sure), but he spoke to his family about it several times.

Yeah he was. That's interesting and he seems to profile pretty similarly to what we have too so I can see it.

Pass from me though

I can’t see us signing him now, but he was closer than you think before he went to spurs. There was a large payment to his agency which made us back off.

we tried to sign him in Howe’s first window as well, and also met his family again in the Feb hoping to do it that summer.

Thanks for sharing this, I do appreciate these insights personally. At the time we were interested what kind of fee was being discussed?

I understand that, but he is mightily expensive player to be on the bench. I think he would play Mbeumo's role, and he has been maybe your best player.

Would also be a pass from me btw. No thanks.

We already have one winger who seems to be melting in the SJP heat.  Johnson looks like he is scared of his own shadow FFS.  Would be a complete waste of money, so I'm hoping we don't go back in for him.

Mbeumo has actually been average for the last month or so. He has zero competition.

I'm a huge fan of Mount and he's a great player to have, but outside of him in the #10 positions there's no real backup.

But aye, £65m could definitely be spent better elsewhere. Casemiro will leave in the summer and Bruno Fernandes is almost certainly in his final year with us, so if we bought Semenyo before getting in two quality midfielders I'd be pretty annoyed.

Sesko looks crap whenever I've seen him and has been on the bench a fair bit already.  Cunha plays up top with Mbeumo and one other behind him, no?  Looks very fluid and actually a very dangerous front 3, annoyingly.  I'm sure he'd start with those two and it would be even more dangerous.

Sesko is 100% starting when he's fit.

Surely Amad would be the competition? He certainly is not a wing back in the long term.

Mount has been better lately, and there is player there. Just needs to stay fit
