When I caught some of Leeds games last season he gave me Joelinton vibes. As in he didn’t look like a striker at all, or someone you want regularly in front of goal, but when he was popping up in more central midfield areas and progressing the ball, looked a real talent.

Raw and needs some more development, with £40m an excessive outlay, but one I can see paying off. Perfectly suited physicality wise for the English game.

They'll be praying at least one hits the mark so they can sell for £70-80m in a couple of years time and do it all again.

I fancy Mitoma or Ferguson will get flogged so Tony Bloom can continue to be the Balance Sheet Champion.

Leeds season ticket holder opinion:

Ties in with what I saw from him.

Definitely remember him losing the ball a lot, typically from not being strong enough on the ball or just careless poor decisions.

Can look good on the occasions he gets it right though.

But yeah, not a fan. And absolutely not for £40 million.

Are Brighton pushing their luck this season ? Granted they have had massive success buying and selling players, but they are paying fortunes for players now and asking a 14 year old manager to deal with the influx, I think it could go tits up

Nah, they'll be comfortably top half again and still look good I think.

They’re making the moves at right time. If they drop off because players need settling / manager is shit, their floor is still safety, and they can get moving on.

Worse thing to do is throw money at the squad when a downward spiral has already started and you are not far above relegation.

Brighton starting to pay some big fees for players, a lot more rides on these than some of the under the radar ones they were making and spinning a profit from. It’ll be interesting to see how many are a hit because there’s certainly more pressure on them now.

For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t have touched Summerville or Rutter they need to both be massively more consistent. That Leeds team they were in should’ve walked the league last year on paper. Their performance in the play-off final was awful.

CM is what I feel they badly need too. KDB is aging, Foden may be needed outwide or even up top at times, then it’s 2 youngsters, or two average guys Nunes/Kovacic. Don’t have that top impactful CM.

Giving they’ve targeted Rice, Pacqueta and Bellingham last season, and ended up with Nunes, seems they were set on a 6ft+ CM that could travel with the ball beyond players. Maybe target similar or go elsewhere. Ederson would be ideal for them IMO if staying on that theme. Think they still sign a wide player too who can play up front. Could be a named player, or someone random, like when they signed Gomez.

Their fans seem convinced they will go for a CM as they have Silva, Doku, Grealish, Savinho who can cover out wide.

Add Foden too

Centrally they have Rodri, Nunes, Kovacic, R Lewis, Stomes, KDB, Akanji
