It does look like there's truth in the story that Ashley won't release funds unless Rafa signs a new contract.

 

If Rafa doesn't trust them, then he should quit now. The strategy of not signing, but hoping that pressure from supporters and the media is going to force Ashley to back down, just isn't going to work. We're in for another meltdown if this carries on.

 

 

There's no truth in that, because Rafa has every reason to believe even if he signed a contract Ashley wouldn't release funds.

 

So why not quit, or sign and then quit if Ashley doesn't deliver on his promises. Then at least everything can be brought out into the open.

 

The current stand-off won't get us anywhere.

Hope he resigns the day before the Spurs match. I'm past caring what happens on the pitch now.

I also don't wanna see us struggle through the season, possibly get relegated and Rafa's reputation be damaged because of it. He doesn't deserve that. The players obviously know Rafa ain't gonna sign a new contract so hard to imagine they'll be hugely motivated this year.

In consideration of all the mitigating factors, I doubt Rafa's reputation will take a hit in the event of relegation. If anything, Rafa will be a major catalyst and focal point in getting more people against Ashley.

The same as before but it was tidied up and presented much better, solely about transfers again though, no mention of Ashley or his lies.

Every single time the club seems to be on the right track under Ashley it's like he consciously tries to fuck it up. Under Keegan when there was finally a bit of a buzz happening with good attacking football he decides to fuck it up with ample help from Wise and Jimenez. Under Hughton when we had a likeable and capable manager slowly but surely building a decent squad around Carroll he fucking gets rid of them both. And now when we're in absolute pole position to make something of this club - great young captain, decent squad, money in the bank and a world class manager he fucking deliberately ensures to fuck everyone off: the fans, Rafa and the squad. This can't go on. Don't care if it takes abuse like West Ham dished out earlier in spring or anthrax in the mail. Get the fuck out.

If rafa gets the boot I would love to see a virtually empty ground for  the next home game #ifrafagoeswego!

 

He could leave today and thousands would still turn up for the Spurs without even knowing he'd gone.

I wasn't having a pop. There's just a lot of talk about doing this, doing that. I think the time for vetting on message boards is over, action is what is needed now.
