I find the way people talk about Pope bizarre, like he's some mythical shot stopper.

He was great for a long time with us but for whatever reason (possibly his injury) he's become prone to a clanger and outside of coming off his line every fault you can lay on Dubravka you can pretty much lay on Pope.

Dubravka never deserved to be dropped and it obviously looks bad when Pope comes straight in and looks shite.

I'm not against Pope like, just don't think he's the clear number 1 anymore.

Totally agree, Pope WAS a great shot stopper but hasn’t looked the same since his injury and I think he’s gone in the summer. Howe obviously thinks he will get more overall from Pope and he may with game time as he looks a bit rusty but it’s very debatable. I think Dubravka was really unfortunate to be dropped.

Some good saves but a shit, indecisive pass that eventually lead to their winner which apparently he's meant to be brilliant at.

Has to be the number 1 from now on. He was more assured at claiming the ball, at playing with his feet, and at the moment a better shot stopper than Pope.

Improvement on Pope but that ain't difficult the way he's playing .

At least Pope would have spooned it miles in the air and off and we could have got back into our shape

Pope wouldn't have even attempted to dive for that save he did so swings and roundabouts really.

Like comparing 2 pieces of shit to which one is less lumpy

That's just it, he should have knocked it into the Milburn stand.

He didn't do that Anfield, he gave the ball straight to Salah and was lucky it went out for a goal kick

Because I was being deadly serious.

Thought he was quite poor for the first goal as well, showed Minteh that near post.

I’m no fan of his. But it was going straight at Dubravka until Trippier basically scored it for Minteh with the deflection.

Minteh was trying to bend it into the far post. Trippiers touch took it near post.

Both Pope and Dubravka aren't good enough. I'd have Dubravaka in ahead of Pope at the moment though.

This is it ultimately, we're stuck between a rock and a hard place but not quite turned into Aron Ralston (don't google if squeamish) in our decision making.

Agreed - not sure what other Premier League team are as poor in the goalkeeper department. Maybe Ipswich. But even Southampton and Leicester have better options.

Made worse by having a pair of slow and poor on the ball centre half’s in front of them.
