Islam Slimani - Returned to Leicester

Figures 1-0 Football

Slimani is expected to be included in the #ALG squad for the upcoming AFCoN qualifier vs Gambia. And if Tottenham win tonights' FA Cup replay, then the Leicester loanee is likely play for his country before Newcastle having been ruled out since joining due to a thigh injury.

OK??

He grabs a brace for Algerian and returns to NUFC bagging half a dozen goals in vital games that ensure our survival?

What a waste. Will have missed 5 games since arriving.

Leaving 8 to go, and nobody can be certain just when he is likely to make a full debut. If hes not ready for Huddersfield then he cant face Leicester.  So if he is ever getting fit his first match is hopeful to be Arsenal.

Waste of what? Am I missing something? :mystery:

Is the "five games" also including Leicester's?!

Be lucky if he plays 4 games tops.

Absolute joke,

Let’s face it, it was a desperate last throw of the dice to get a striker in due to Ashley’s miserliness.

Unsurprising it hasn’t worked out.

Yeah, Ashley gambled in the summer we'd stay up without buying a genuine quality striker, and it didn't pay off. You can only assume that Slimani passed the medical due to the thigh strain not being considered too big a problem, but it's taken longer than expected to heal. Hopefully he'll be available for Huddersfield and the games beyond.

I'm not saying the situation is acceptable, but if he scores even one goal that our existing strikers wouldn't be capable of, it could be the difference between survival and promotion. It's that tight.
